Interesteg What makes it different from others?
NekoHomey Purely Joyful Movie!
Rio Hayward All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.
Clarissa Mora The tone of this movie is interesting -- the stakes are both dramatic and high, but it's balanced with a lot of fun, tongue and cheek dialogue.
Paul Magne Haakonsen "UnOfficially Yours" turned out to be a little bit too filled with clichés and sappy for my liking. And as such I gave up halfway through the movie, because it just utterly failed to appeal to me on any level. The storyline is about Mackie Galvez (played by John Lloyd Cruz) who starts writing at a newspaper, where he runs into Ces Bricenio (played by Angel Locsin), a woman he is spellbound by since their one night together. Mackie tries with all his might and tricks to win over the reluctant Ces.Clichés run high and the story progressed at a very slow pace, never offering any surprises. Everything was just oozing with predetermined sassy clichés and moments. The acting in the movie was alright, although there was a disturbing lack of chemistry between the two lead performers, which ultimately made the movie seem less believable. This movie seems to be aimed at a female audience, particularly one that seeks out sappy love stories. As a very non-member of that audience, I rate "UnOfficially Yours" a mere 3 out of 10 stars.
PlatinumRosebud After the success of their Immortal TV series, Unofficially Yours, is the much anticipated film collaboration of John Lloyd Cruz and Angel Locsin. When I saw this film this afternoon, the theater goers were mostly composed of couples out on a post-Valentine's Day date. And true enough, the two actors delivered what their viewer are asking for. Their on screen chemistry sizzles in this romantic-comedy directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina. The director, whose romantic-comedy films are quite popular among Filipino movie going public, again put into screen the latest date movie of a story penned by Juan Miguel Sevilla.SPOILER BELOW!!!!!The story, a one-night stand going to friends with benefit kind of thing to a steady and serious kind of relationship is reminiscent of the Justin Timberlake-Mila Kunis movie but with a bit more depth on the reason behind the "why" the girl doesn't want to fall in love and enter into a committed type of relationship. And like most Filipino romantic-comedies, whatever the reason for the "trauma" might have been, the two leads will be together happily ever after by the movie's ending credits.Be that as it may, my rating geared toward the good chemistry of John Lloyd and Angel. I think Angel's acting has also improved. She and John Lloyd seemed to have enjoyed doing this film and their verbal sparring came out natural and enjoyable to watch. John Lloyd, as always, may be it drama or comedy, this actor delivers and makes everything so believable. The supporting actors are okay, especially Techie Agbayani who I last saw in the critically acclaimed independent film Thelma. Her scenes are few (she plays Angel's mom in this film) but as always, Ms. Agbayani is an indelible presence in any film. Her scenes with Angel are very good especially the last one in the kitchen. If you want sizzling entertainment for a date movie, this is the one for you. Happy viewing!
