Reviews

Perry Kate Very very predictable, including the post credit scene !!!
Ehirerapp Waste of time
Comwayon A Disappointing Continuation
Rio Hayward All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.
supermaggie I am completely shocked by the many negative reviews. How is that possible? This movie is one of the funniest movies ever, and I am not just talking about German movies or just parodies, it is hilarious and (since it is respectfully mocking Star Wars and Star Trek) funnier/more entertaining than any of the Star Wars/Trek films altogether (and in the case of Star Wars - less violent). Yes, Bullyparade-the show has a strong fanbase (and is great), yes, Der Schuh des Manitu is probably an even funnier/better movie (however with more dead animals!), but the actors are playing so exuberantly, it is a pure delight to watch them have fun. Maybe some people are not happy with the gay theme or some diehard Star Wars/Star Trek fans are offended or expected more serious space action, but I think it is a perfect mixture of a decent story, some great (and funny!) action scenes and -of course- a lot of hilarious fun and puns. However, I admit the movie grew on me, I like it even better now than when it came out, maybe this is why the rating is so low, which I cannot understand. Everybody who is a little bit open and wants to have a great laugh/time, check out all of Bully's stuff - he is a genius (Loriot and Bully - just two great examples of German humour, and there are people who say there is none - there absolutely is, a lot).
nikinemeth I just so loved this movie. As the first one also: Der Schuh Des Manitu. The three actors: Christian Tramitz, Bully and Rick Kavanian are just super. On this movie they successfully brought back the feeling of their legendary and amazing TV-show: Bullyparade. The performance of them is amazing and really funny, and their voice, i love it.(Everybody must watch this movie in original German, thats the best) I watched it a hundred times, but i cant get bored with it. Many of the great vignettes come back from the Bullyparades Traumschiff surprise, but they don't make the mistake making the same again. Its great to see commitments to the previously film (Sky Dumont, Jim and Jack), and Till Schweiger was also a great choice for the role of Rock. Usually the drama-actors are in the spotlight, but its also very hard to make a good comedy. They did it, i just love this German-sense of humor. 10/10
AnimationPhoenix I am an American, but speak German fluently due to my mother being from Germany. I recently saw the film with family friends while in Germany for Christmas. I can't tell you how hard I was laughing the whole time I watched the film. I think the film was very well put together. The dialog is funny, the little hints here and there about Der Shuh Des Manitu was also very witty.I can see why Herr Herbig laughs at night in his sleep from all the gags. I have to say though, the best part of the whole film has to be the sound track. I throughly enjoyed the music from the film. Especially the Miss Waikiki song...that just plan cracked me up.All in all I give this movie a 10 out of 10 for wittiness, music, fantastic special effects, good plot and well thought out story, and for being something different from American films. Yes. It was very Mel Brooksish, though, and very very funny! I'd say it's a must have for all comedy lovers (I bought my copy already!)
Fred Man I've seen Der Schuh Des Manitu (great funny movie if you know all the "Winnetou"-movies) but haven't seen Periode 1. I'd like to see it. And i'd like to buy both movies if they would be in English language or at least with English subtitles. I know there are some trailers in English from Der Schuh Des Manitu. So where is the whole English version? Please let me know if someone know more about. Write an e-mail to: b190897@yahoo.de I hope there will be another funny movie from this guy's. Maybe some funny version about all the James Bond, Starsky and Hutch, Petrocelly, Cojak and ... Or about ll the action ones: Rambo, Mad Max... Or what ever... we will wait and see to get surprised. Regards, Fred
