Alicia I love this movie so much
KnotMissPriceless Why so much hype?
Holstra Boring, long, and too preachy.
Freeman This film is so real. It treats its characters with so much care and sensitivity.
ManchesterMatthew This film didn't have a clue what it wanted to be, and in a relatively short running time it veered in far too many directions, succeeding in none of them.It begins as a bog standard city drama. Before long it's a disaster movie, before taking a hairpin bend into fantasy. But wait, now it's a love story, or is it a crime drama? Murder mystery? Suspense? No, I've got it now, it's like Groundhog Day, wait, no, I meant Ghost, no, Premonition! Sorry, I meant science fiction. No, I have it this time, it's an action film!See what I mean? In barely over an hour and a half it bounces from one type of film to the next with hardly any character development or coherent plot. And the score is maddening. A constant thrumming throughout was starting to physically aggravate my senses by the time it went off - something I was longing for, by the way. One of the worst films I've seen, to the point I apologised afterwards for having suggested we watch it. Avoid.
shakercoola Pattern and repetition and predestination definitely have a place in movie plots, but when these things are ill-explained it is difficult viewing for the circumspect viewer, even one prepared to suspend belief. The love story that ties in with the plot is unnatural too. The characterisation of the lead is incongruous - a poseur, a man of metrosexual cliché, rushing about carelessly is to be believed as having the settled, even-balanced character of an air traffic controller. None of this is helped by inane voiceover work and destroys any tension early on. All the stylisation around this aspect early on just feels wrong. Vision lets down this picture and wastes its talent. It's a movie trying to be clever and it just doesn't work.
The Couchpotatoes 2:22 is yet another story of somebody living almost the same day over and over again to come to the conclusion something bad is going to happen. It definitely could have been better. But the story and it's execution was just a bit lame. It didn't make much sense and that's why I lost my interest for 2:22 at one point. The acting was just average, nothing great at all. It wasn't bad though, just not Oscar winning style. At one point the story just didn't add up, and that's never good in a movie. The soundtrack was also a bit boring, even annoying. And that's something that quickly makes a movie boring to me. If you really have nothing else to watch I guess you can watch 2:22but don't expect too much of it.
Jithin K Mohan The overall story is not very good when you think about it after the film but the engaging first half and the lead pair makes it a good watch. The mystery behind 2:22 and the romantic track of the first half was very well done but throughout the second half there was something missing in the direction or it might be the script going downhill from there. Teresa Palmer and Michiel Huisman are a charming lead pair who managed to keep it interesting even when the script was lacking the power.
