Blending excellent reporting and strong storytelling, this is a disturbing film truly stranger than fiction

The movie is made so realistic it has a lot of that WoW feeling at the right moments and never tooo over the top. the suspense is done so well and the emotion is felt. Very well put together with the music and all.

47 Meters is another shark type thriller. The film gets straight to the point which is a good thing and doesn't take too long for its plot to settle in. Unrealistic in certain parts about the length of the sharks in the film and how the leads were able to remain survived within the water 47 meters down. The film does get quite decent but the thrills are very predictable. In comparison to the Shallows, that film was more enjoyable and better placed. The twist type ending is decent and works but also somewhat predictable. Though it does make the film better in the end as it isn't a complete cliche type happy ending in which most were possibly expecting.

"47 Meters Down" tries to trace the horror genre on sharks adding some relatively new element but forgets a good dose of conviction that could have led to being at least recognizable, and instead ends, even if you already understand it from the first minutes, to prove too thin and can not even entertain as it could and should, given the concept quite interesting.
It is based on a screenplay that, just in the attempt to seem detailed, take many things for granted and many are left out, bringing all the time inconsistencies and this inevitably leads to being annoyingly superficial.
To all this are added the poor interpretations, not only by the extras but also by the two protagonists, for which there is not even a minimum of displeasure or compassion; and a strange and confusing montage that makes the action scenes too much confuse and not very gratifying, especially because they often last too little.
Only the discrete special effects and good photography can make it a horror slightly bearable but what it transmits is certainly not fear or anxiety but only a lot, but really a lot, boredom.
In short, a soporific, useless, flat and easily forgotten film as well as a real waste of time.

This movie should be terrible... there are so many things wrong with it. The CGI sharks, the kind of expensive scuba equipment being used which doesn't gel with the rusty old boat and cage, the lighting which aims to make things darker than they would be, Matthew Modine caught laughing in a tense scene...But if you can suspend your disbelief, the two female leads do a great job. There are jump scares aplenty and there is real tension. The ending will leave you scratching your head about who, if anyone, survived... and I appreciate that.It could have been a lot better, though. There's too much deus ex machina going on here. Obviously, we need the protagonists to have some state of the art scuba gear with radio mikes so that they can talk to each other and communicate with the boat... otherwise it's going to be a silent movie. But this kind of equipment is unheard of with your average rusty-boat dive operator. The 40 meter range on the radio is rather arbitrary. They should have gotten some real footage of great whites instead of all CGI. It would have been good to see a bit of the drama on board the boat as they decide what to do about things. All in all, it's just a fun jump scare movie.

This movie is filled with suspense and panic. It starts off with two sisters, named Kate and Lisa, going on a fun trip to Mexico. They both decide to go diving in a shark-infested ocean where they thought they were going to have fun. The cage, in which they was being held by ropes, snapped and fell to the bottom of the ocean water. Kate and Lisa faced a series of challenges and had to problem-solve quick. They went through problems such as not having enough oxygen, getting wounded, getting the spuds. Unfortunately, Kate ended up dying and Lisa got help from the coastguard. This was an overall good movie, very entertaining and was filled with panic.
