Synopsis

Billy was an ordinary AD cop, but he was massively and mortally wounded in the line of duty. In an experimental project, he is made a total conversion cyborg, a cyborg with more than 90% of his body artificial. The only thing that reminds him of his humanity is his brain and his tongue, which he periodically bites to remind himself of his humanity. Unfortunately, apart from that, he suffers from total sensory deprivation which slowly begins to affect his mind. His efforts to feel something, anything, lead to tragedy. Reviews

StunnaKrypto Self-important, over-dramatic, uninspired.
SpunkySelfTwitter It’s an especially fun movie from a director and cast who are clearly having a good time allowing themselves to let loose.
Sammy-Jo Cervantes There are moments that feel comical, some horrific, and some downright inspiring but the tonal shifts hardly matter as the end results come to a film that's perfect for this time.
Hayleigh Joseph This is ultimately a movie about the very bad things that can happen when we don't address our unease, when we just try to brush it off, whether that's to fit in or to preserve our self-image.
artical Ignore the poor rating given at the top of the page. If you have a penchant for unrelenting anime brutality from the 90's this film will push all the right buttons. In recent years anime seems to have lost it's guts, especially when compared to such visceral images as presented here. This episode deals with Billy and his transfer into a fully cyborg body. Though his situation mirrors that of Alex Murphy in Robocop, Murphy never had to deal with sexual abuse, drug addiction and sensory deprivation related psychosis. I consider this to be the peak of Japanese anime, before studios decided to pander to a global market and tone down the intrinsic sadism that all adult anime shared in. If you want to see Robocop reinterpreted through a crazed geek's lens then get this film. It may be the fact that it was one of the first anime films i saw but the images in this film stay with you forever, why cant Hollywood produce a sci-fi with as much balls?
