Dotbankey A lot of fun.
PiraBit if their story seems completely bonkers, almost like a feverish work of fiction, you ain't heard nothing yet.
pointyfilippa The movie runs out of plot and jokes well before the end of a two-hour running time, long for a light comedy.
Ian (Flash Review)I'm not embarrassed to say I watched this...who am I kidding...of course I am! Ha! It found its way onto my TV as I was multitasking during the holidays. This is a made for TV movie so no reason to hammer away at this but it was OK at best. It brought absolutely nothing new to the table. Ask any 12 year old girl how they envision a fairytale life twist and it'll most likely include being swept off their feet and marrying a wealthy prince. Combine that with the most expected soft story arc and there's your movie. Shot on an obvious budget, one of several big eye rolls was that an 'official royal kitchen' was nothing more than shooting in a modern McMansion kitchen with white appliances. No reason to watch this unless you pop in a movie with your grandmother or have it on in the background during the holidays.
suzieq-07795 If you're a man it probably isn't your type of film. But, if you're a female you will love it.
omijer As an avid viewer of all Christmas movies, it is difficult to find anything positive to say about this one..The story is line is formulaic..We all know how it begins, evolves, and ends. The problem with this film is that the characters do not evoke one tiny bit of emotion in the viewer. We are all familiar with the small town hard-working girl..who is meeting some family obligations..Her dreams do not reach very far. But what can possibly explain the prince's attraction to her, or her to him? The saddest part of this movie is the prince's bland look, a face without the smallest touch of emotion, and a voice that is flat and without any drama or nuance.. His eyes are completely bland, without emotion, his delivery of his lines is robotic. Why would this lovely young woman find him the least bit attractive except , perhaps as an escape opportunity from her sad life? This actor is so mis-cast. He needs more energy, more passion, more voice, more of anything to make him a vibrant, appealing man. sorry, but even used car salesman ..with all his rage and bluster, seems more appealing than this pale, flat, emotionless prince. the movie is saved by the attractive King and Queen (Kelly leBrock, matured into beautiful middle age)..and by the energetic, emotional diner owner hoping to become chef. The movie would actually survive on its own without the pale, bland prince in it at all.sorry..not a hit..clearly a miss.
StevenJones457 This movie is very bland. It's cliché and you can guess what happens witching five minutes of the movie. Which is fine, some people like feel good movies where everyone is holding hands smiling at the end. The biggest problem with this movie is that there is one person of color, who is introduced near the end as a minor character, a chef. An entire populous town has no POC in it? It's 2015, there are capable POC actors/actresses that can play leads in cliché holiday romantic movies. It's not like they're hiding or hard to find. POC deserve recognition. Why cast identical blonde haired girls and brunette boys for every Christmas movie? But yeah, the plot was meh, but the thing that irritates me the most was the lack of representation.
