Synopsis

Alice and Julius are riding along on a turtle until they notice someone has left a pie to cool on their third-storey window sill. They swipe it with the aid of the turtle and his elongated neck, but are pursued by a police officer. They try to paddle away across a pond and up a river, but the officer's determined to catch them. He tricks them into his paddy wagon and they end up in prison, where the hijinks continue with a daring jail break.

Reviews

TrueJoshNight Truly Dreadful Film
SeeQuant Blending excellent reporting and strong storytelling, this is a disturbing film truly stranger than fiction
Senteur As somebody who had not heard any of this before, it became a curious phenomenon to sit and watch a film and slowly have the realities begin to click into place.
Edwin The storyline feels a little thin and moth-eaten in parts but this sequel is plenty of fun.
Michael_Elliott Alice the Jail Bird (1925) *** (out of 4) Fun entry in the Walt Disney series has a bit of a darker side as Alice and Julius are thrown in jail after stealing a pie. Once in the jail they must try and stay clear of the warden and other bad guys. ALICE THE JAIL BIRD will appeal to fans of the series as once again it has some very good animation and there's no doubt that the mix of it with the live action made for a good match. There are several funny scenes here but the highlight is certainly the scene where Julius is trying to get away from the cop while riding a turtle who gets its head shot off only to be reattached. Once we get to the actual jail things aren't as funny but fans will still be entertained by this one.
