This is a documentary about an honest search for the truth about the Federal Reserve Bank and the legality of the Internal Revenue System. Merolliv I really wanted to like this movie. I feel terribly cynical trashing it, and that's why I'm giving it a middling 5. Actually, I'm giving it a 5 because there were some superb performances.
Neive Bellamy Excellent and certainly provocative... If nothing else, the film is a real conversation starter.
Clarissa Mora The tone of this movie is interesting -- the stakes are both dramatic and high, but it's balanced with a lot of fun, tongue and cheek dialogue.
ceejay1-1 This 45-minute documentary is a gem.Everything I need to know that I didn't learn in kindergarten--nor grammar school, high school, college, or post-graduate work. How did we get so dumb? This movie is now easily viewed on video-sharing websites so there is no excuse not to see it.Please watch it, tell your friends about it, make your kids watch it. I think we're in a race against time to wake up as a nation (in the United States) or, as newly enlightened individuals, if not able to save this nation, to begin again, perhaps, armed with the knowledge and ideals being made known by means of the Internet and works like this one, and to reconstitute a new country like the one our Founding Fathers envisioned.God Bless America.
Brian Wright Give me control of a nation's money and I care not who makes its laws. — Mayer Amschel Bauer Rothschild The Constitution is just a goddam piece of paper. — (King) George Bush II Today I present comments on Aaron Russo's important documentary for resolving two peculiarly American precipitants of tyranny: the income tax and the Federal Reserve Act. Both of these confiscation-and-control mechanisms were set in place in the ominous year of 1913. Indeed, they were followed by WW1 (1914-1918), Prohibition (1920-1933), and the Great Depression (1929-1939), leading to WW2 (1939-1945), the Cold War (1945-1989), and the post-Reagan full flowering of the national security Cartel in a neverending War on Terror (1980s-whenever)... tomq5p Aaron Russo set out to find out about legality of taxing income in the United States and ended up discovering more than he bargained for, or at least so he tells us. Although Russo seems to have a preconceived view on the topics he examines in this film, it is well worth a close viewing. The film asks a lot of important questions that aren't tackled in the mainstream media; its importance lies in the fact that it encourages people to question the actions of those in power (the U.S. government and the elite) and demand answers. I follow the debate on our civil liberties pretty closely, and I was still surprised to learn many things about the income tax, the Federal Reserve Bank, national ID cards, and other threats to the civil liberties of Americans and the citizens of the world. I took issue with certain sections of the film, especially the section on immigration. But, overall, the issues covered were very important to be educated about and are never touched by media sources in the U.S. Check this film out for a shock and a reality check. 9 out of 10
edbrotherton Aaron Russo takes on a very difficult task with this film and does it better than I think anyone else could have done it. The challenge with a documentary like this, is that there is so much information; so much history so many legal citations that go along with this subject matter it is very difficult to tell this story about the IRS and Federal Reserve System in two hours and at the same time give the audience enough information.Aaron does a great job creating enough interest and supporting documentation on the main points that it begs more questions that any person can go out and look up for themselves. The thing people have to realize about this film is that this is the first of its kind. Aaron has given America a tremendous gift with this documentary. A lesson in civics that should be shown in all schools and libraries across the country. It is something that people can go to for understanding. There have been thousands of people looking for the answers to the questions regarding the constitutionality of the income tax and federal reserve system and have gotten no answers from their government. Even though the film answers only a few main points like what is income? (a very important point that is highly misunderstood with American population) He hits the topics with broad strokes leaving it up to the viewer to get off their duff and take responsibility and do their own research.Even if you don't like the documentary style. This is a most important film and makes Faranhiet 9-11 look like a joke. Aaron touches on the issues that no one else wants to touch with a 10 foot pole and our elected representatives avoid like it's the plague. (Except for Congressman Ron Paul) GO OUT AND SEE THIS FILM. YOU MUST IT IS YOUR CIVIC DUTY TO KNOW THIS INFORMATION!!!!
