Very interesting film. Was caught on the premise when seeing the trailer but unsure as to what the outcome would be for the showing. As it turns out, it was a very good film.

Excellent characters with emotional depth. My wife, daughter and granddaughter all enjoyed it...and me, too! Very good movie! You won't be disappointed.

It’s sentimental, ridiculously long and only occasionally funny

It had to happen at some stage, did it not? The whole American Pie larger than life lad flick feel given a coat of pink paint and a liberal dusting of glitter! Another Gay Movie is that movie. An entertaining light-hearted romp through stereotypical eyes at the lives of four teenage friends who agree to lose company with their virginity before summer's last stand. It is without a doubt one of the most outrageous gay parody films ever seen. The jokes come thick and fast and there are some that come pretty close to crossing from boundary from scandalous to bad taste. It is a silly and irreverent look at gay sexuality and lifestyles with all the exaggerations expected of a parody of this time of film. The whole plot line for example should give you all you need to know about the movie before you sit down and watch it, four gay guys desperate to lose the big V plates in a few short weeks and that is basically it. Perhaps like most spoofs the joke aspect grows thin a quarter of an hour in and the jokes just become banal and stereotypical. It get's a mention in The Top 50 Most Influential Gay Movies Of All Time book, but what position did it reach? Search on Amazon for the book to find out. :) http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B007FU7HPO

I have four words to describe this movie: awful, dreadful and stupid. I absolutely hate what this movie has to give us. I have nothing against homosexuals, it is your choice and you are free to everything you want, but this movie is stupid. Disgusting! It killed me to watch it and I watched it Only because my girlfriend liked it for some reasons only she understands, but she agreed with me that it is stupid. Try Brokeback Mountain instead of this s***. It isn't even funny! Why waste hours of your life watching this. I could recommend at least 30 movies better than this one. I didn't like the storyline, the acting, the plot. Nothing impressed me in a positive matter, except the credits. Those credits were the best thing of this movie. 1 out of 10 is to good for it.

I love comedies, so having read the reviews; I bought the DVD on Amazon. Now I'm not a film maker but I'm almost sure there's a process to making a movie that involves hundreds if not thousands of people depending on the size of the budget etc. I guess the process starts with a concept, an idea, then a writer or scriptwriters, showing it to someone, getting financial backing, finding a director, auditioning actors, arranging a production crew etc. I wonder how many individuals were involved in the making of this movie and during the whole process - from the initial concept to the director shouting 'it's a rap' - did anyone stop to point out that they were making one of the worst movies in the history of film making, a big streaming pile of dog sh*t.I was lucky enough to resell my DVD to some poor sap on eBay.

Director Todd Stephens' stab at a gay teenage sex comedy in the style of Porky's or myriad other 1980s films should ostensibly have been a disaster, but emerges as far more inventive and amusing than anyone could have expected. The story takes the old nutshell of the gaggle of four high school friends determined to lose their virginity before starting college and makes the protagonists gay. A familiar parade of gross-out/rude humor takes the stage, but the film puts itself to the head of the pack due to several accomplishments that go far beyond changing the sexual orientation of its leads. For one thing, many of the jokes truly do hit the mark. The film has a good feel for exactly the naughty comedy it is going for and succeeds, and it has a surprisingly upbeat nature about it - an element missing from many of its predecessors. A steady array of cameos from gay celebrities in amusing roles maintains interest - from Lypsinka and Scott Thompson as parents to one of the boys to Graham Norton as a teacher to former Boy Meets Boy lead James Getzlaff as a hunk to former Survivor winner Richard Hatch as himself, etc. It also has a good feel for its audience, in that a la Porky's it knows how to tease and titillate, but it also delivers and does so with a wink. There is a lot of male skin on display here from the leads downward and it is usually more welcome than not. The memorable sequence where three of the guys tap into the security cam in a gym shower a la Porky's to spy on the eye-popping soapy Jason Ridge in a "private" moment ranks as one of the best guilty pleasures in a long time, not only for the stimulating visuals but the frankly hilarious commentary from the voyeuristic on screen audience. The leads are all perfect. Michael Carbonaro is hilarious as the dreamy/nerdy guy who functions as the focal character, Jonah Blechman hits all the right notes as the stereotypically flamboyant gay guy. However, special mention needs to go to both Jonathan Chase and Mitch Morris, cast respectively as a gay jock and his overlooked smitten best friend. Both guys are incredibly appealing and their relationship provides a surprising amount of sympathy and heart to the proceedings. The script really seems to like all four of the leads and that makes it easier for the audience to accept them at face value even when the comedy heads into the realm of slapstick. Stephanie McVey is also a comic highlight as Blechman's eternally clueless mother. Certainly not something to show your friends who want to watch Hamlet, but a decidedly upbeat guilty pleasure for those in the mood for its kind. Followed by a truly lamentable misfire of a sequel with only one of the four leads returning.
