Rijndri Load of rubbish!!
Seraherrera The movie is wonderful and true, an act of love in all its contradictions and complexity
Micah Lloyd Excellent characters with emotional depth. My wife, daughter and granddaughter all enjoyed it...and me, too! Very good movie! You won't be disappointed.
Bessie Smyth Great story, amazing characters, superb action, enthralling cinematography. Yes, this is something I am glad I spent money on.
Michael Ledo This is a semi-faith based film that attempts to disguise itself. Vian (Sean Bean) beats a man to death. After 12 years in prison, he gets out and finds out no one wants anything to do with him. His sister (Kate Walsh) who believes "God will provide" reluctantly takes him for a few weeks, during which time he picks up Eva Longoria by asking her about her sign. Things go up for Sean and right when the story was getting ready to stall, the down slide happens to wake us back up.This was a slow moving drama about an ex-con, forgiveness, redemption, and Jimmy's rock. None of the theme aspects were done particularly well, but then again it wasn't bad...just meh.Guide: No swearing, or nudity. Implied sex.
yjudith I liked this movie. Im new to the faith based movies and just love them. One of the things Ive noticed is that I have to take my critics glasses off, because if I dont there will never be a christian movie I'd like because they're all flawed. I didnt care that the choice of Sean Bean was unrealistic because of the age thing..as someone said not too many people boxing at that age. The child actor...I dont think he was THAT bad. And yes the story seemed thrown together, like they didnt care, but in the end it's all about God. Thats what christian movies come down to. Whether all their lives christians or total newbies, that's what these movies are made for.
Rwwood48 I just watched this. I guess I look at movies different then most. The story about an ex prisoner trying to start his life over, and the folks who would not "hire an ex- con". I have never for heard of the man actor, or the boy ,but the ladies Eva, and Kate ,and Tom Arnold .I never liked Mr. Arnold's being silly in his past work , but this serious role as the restaurant guy who took a chance on the Ex-con showed his caring for another guy down on his luck. This was well written, and well acted , and made you hope that if you do things right, even after you have messed up...things will improve in your life by making amends of your wrongs.
MartinHafer Normally, I'd hesitate to review a film like Any Day. After all, I really don't recommend you watch it because the ending will most likely annoy you and let you down. But the first 80% of the film is so good and shows so much promise and I do want to see more from these folks.Sean Bean plays Vian, an angry man who just spend 12 years in prison for beating a man to death in a fight. Now he has no place to live, no job and no prospects. His only family, his sister is afraid to allow him back in their lives--especially since she has a young son. Despite her better judgment, she does allow him to stay...provided he never drink and gets his life together. Through much of the film, Vian works hard to have a semblance of a life and you really pull for him. After all, the character is well written and Bean and the rest of the cast did a great job. Unfortunately, what follows REALLY frustrated me...with an unnecessary and unbelievable twist that most likely will leave the audience frustrated for buying into the film and pulling for the guy. I would say more, but it would give away too much of the plot.On the plus side, the directing is wonderful--very stark but never boring and well-paced. The acting, also, is terrific as is the music--which is often haunting. But it really looks like they didn't know how to end this one. One thing for sure, they made the wrong choices and the movie left me and my wife wondering what could have been had they known where to take it. It's all a shame, as if it had been written well throughout the film, I would have given this one an A-. It DOES have a lot going for it despite it's ending and crazy plot twist.
