Lucybespro It is a performances centric movie
Baseshment I like movies that are aware of what they are selling... without [any] greater aspirations than to make people laugh and that's it.
Micah Lloyd Excellent characters with emotional depth. My wife, daughter and granddaughter all enjoyed it...and me, too! Very good movie! You won't be disappointed.
Jerrie It's a good bad... and worth a popcorn matinée. While it's easy to lament what could have been...
Andreashoekman This movie was excellent in my eyes :)i have watched this movie like 6times in de cinema and when it came out on DVD i buyed it.and i don't regard it 1 bit.The movie like it says in the title is about the Olympic games that Asterix and Obelix need to help a friend because he wants the girl and the ya know about Asterix and Obelix the never turn down a offer hehe:) I saw the dutch version of asterix and obelix and i laugh my ass off serious i loved every bit of comedy of it. Its even better then part 2 this part makes the hole family giggle if u dint like the humor of the movie then u just have a bad taste and think to serious about it.I recommended this movie to everybody without a doubt. for the fans u will love it :)!!
blackmamba99971 I read nearly every comic of Asterix. And I have to say that this was one fun movie. Gerard Depardue was brilliant as Obelix. The fast running strong he-man - lovable bear. In fact he doesn't need potions he is just the natural born phenomenon. Going to the Olympics to partake in the games against Rome was sheer genius. Lovesix a dumb witted would be warrior who fell in love with the Greek princess has to try and impress her with the games. Yet his body and mind holds no strength what so ever. So his friends Obelix and Asterix train him, or at least try to, to overcome his fears. His will keeps his feet and hands moving, but hardly gets the results needed to keep his princess's heart. Though no brute strength was the key. She loves poems more than the games. And Lovesix impresses her with more heart felt love than any man alive. But his resolve to win the games and take her hand in marriage is all he can think about. So with the help of his close friends and a few druids. Stops Ceasars son who cheated in every event. This was a great example of an old comic, the scope of this film was something else, Most of it in a stage studio, the rest outside of course for the games. Excellent film for a foreign movie. And besides I always liked Gerard. A great kids show, but also for adults who read the comics.
EchoMaRinE This is unquestionably the worst comedy I have ever seen in my life. May be it is slightly better for those who understand French but the jokes were so bad, didn't make any sense with the subtitles. The music and special effects were OK but the plot is just nonsense. I gave a 2 just for the time they spent on this. They had some good ideas close to the end but no one can survive up to that point without loosing his sanity. With the money they spent on this, if they had a good story, it could have been better. At least, it wouldn't fail as much. Don't waste your money and time. It is even not worth for renting. Painfully bad, not funny even for a moment.
lego_orli_bloom Unfortunately, the options do not enable me to give it a 0 and believe the movie is sure worth that vote. They are really making fun of us. I cannot believe so much money was spent....for that! Me think 3/4 of the budget was used to pay the "guest stars" (Zidane, Schumacher, Parker) and the big French names (Delon, Poelvoorde, Depardieu)...they had a funny, witty and perfect story with the comic book, why did they have to rewrite the whole story and give us a long, absurd and useless movie? I'm sorry, I'm really angry I lost 6 euros in this. And I wasn't even expecting much,...well they managed to disappoint me. How low can French cinema sink, we're really pathetic. (though we do have some good ol' comedies: le Dîner de Cons, les Visiteurs...) DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY IN THIS / NE GACHEZ PAS VOTRE ARGENT POUR CE FILM
