Phillida Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.

Avenging Angelo is not one of Stallone's best movies for sure but his charm alongside Madeleine Stowe's Jennifer Barrett and Anthony Quinn's final role is worth your time and money depending your taste. Let's start with the flaws some of it's black humor isn't that strong, the villains are dumb and weak but since it's a comedy i guess it makes sense and there's also a scene with Jennifer's husband cheating her with her friend inside the pool with some nudity and also the whole thing could just cut out it's easy. Now what i liked the 3 leading actors are really good, the soundtrack was pretty nice and the ending was very good and i liked how they paid tribute to Quinn's Historic Career. In the end Avenging Angelo is not an Oscar worthy action/drama/comedy but it's not a bad film either 8/10

Desertman84 Avenging Angelo is a mob comedy that stars Sylvester Stallone and Madeleine Stowe together with Anthony Quinn,who appeared in his last film.This movie directed by Martyn Burke tells the simply story of a murdered mob chieftain's bodyguard who provides protection to his boss' daughter.As I have stated in the previous paragraph,the plot here is pretty simplistic and obviously predictable.Stallone plays a disgraced mob hit-man who must protect his dead boss' spoiled and rich daughter.As he successfully managed to do this by slaying one assassin after another who plans to kill the daughter,we get to see them falling for each other in the end.I guess everyone already knew at the time the disgraced hit-man started offering protection.This is action and romantic comedy combined.While everything is clichéd and predictable,one thing that most romantic comedy do wrong is to focus on the plot instead of the characters.The development of the story is called for by the script and the viewer does not see why and how the hit-man and the mob's daughter fell for each other.Also,we see a familiar role that Stallone is known for: a Rambo type for film that is capable of killing the villains on his own.That is why the movie offers nothing new at all and people will see this as just one and the same movies that they saw in a lazy weekend.

Rodrigo Amaro Nothing less than pathetic, the worst excuse for a movie "Avenging Angelo" has Sylvester Stallone playing Frankie, the bodyguard of a mobster (Anthony Quinn in his final role) who, after the old man's murder needs to protect his daughter (Madeleine Stowe) from eventual enemies. Detail: she doesn't know that her father was a criminal. If this was a drama or a thriller something decent would come out of this. So, this is a comedy and the way the story is developed is just a set of dumb moments after another, schmucks dealing with schmucks and the neurotic woman going nuts after finding the truth about her family.Almost everything is weak here. Almost. There's four or five moments that are a little funny, takes some good laughs out of us but that's it, no more. For the most part of this, I was anxious for the ending regretting for not walking out of it when I had the chance. It is such a stupid movie that is beyond anything I've seen in the past few months. Silly acting, silly plot and silly humor (best thing of this is when Stallone takes out the truth from Stowe's husband about his infidelities). Wanna see of what a bad movie is like? Watch this! If you don't feel bad at all and manage to sit through the whole thing and enjoy it, well, my bad, sorry. But then go to a doctor and do some head check to see how sane you are. 2/10

marybeth4361 Avenging Angelo was dedicated to Anthony Quinn, whose character was killed off in a vendetta for the murder a rival. His daughter, Jennifer was never told he was her father. Her "father and mother" were to raise Jennifer as their own child for her protection. Frankie was her body guard much of her life. In the process he fell in love with her. There was definite chemistry between Jennifer and Frankie. The movie is fairly predictable. One of the silliest moments was when Jennifer decided to "wax" the man who was trying to have her killed. Being at death's door, Jennifer succeeded when she "married him to death". The movie had romance and laughter, and it was a lot of fun if you could overlook the "whacking" of several people who were out to get Jennifer.
