CommentsXp Best movie ever!
Robert Joyner The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one
Melanie Bouvet The movie's not perfect, but it sticks the landing of its message. It was engaging - thrilling at times - and I personally thought it was a great time.
Zlatica One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.
haggishunter-20026 The worst film ever created an IMDb score of 2.8/10 which is too high. The title is the most misleading thing ever, Battle of which there are none, Skyark has no direct link to the film other than being thrown off it. The trailer ruins the whole film I'm sure you shouldn't do that in trailers but it was so poorly executed it doesn't matter. "Rags" is the main character from what I can gather however the story is so poorly written it's so hard to tell, Rags parents hated him they weren't poor they just named him Rags so it's understandable that he was thrown off. In the end Rags drinks some blue liquid and no it isn't Powerade he has seen that it makes you into a monster but drinks it anyway and then is SURPRISED when he turns into a monster. The cover of the film has no quotes as it's so bad, the acting is poor so there is no mention of the actors. The back claims the monsters are alien monsters when they're just other people. There is a short child who shows autistic traits, I was really happy when he died but he comes back, I wanted to die especially badly at that point. Overall this film is poorly executed. It is possible to make a good film on a small budget like "Paranormal Activity" however they completely messed that up. Don't waste your time on this film 85 minutes could be spent shopping or doing something you enjoy. I wouldn't rate this film as it doesn't deserve it.
getowned-com That is unless you want something horrendously bad to laugh at and break down as what not to do. I don't typically write reviews but something about this movie struck me as so terrible that it had to be put into words. I will break this down into parts.Writing/Screenplay : The lines in this movie were terrible, so many awkward moments, a lot of melancholy and drawn out scenes while the important scenes just seemed rushed and lacking substance. I found myself wondering about half way through the movie how is could possibly not be over yet. The actions of the characters seemed almost random and as if they were incompetent. They would do something and almost immediately change their mind, or there would be a long pause to "think about" what you're doing or should doing in an "act now" scenario. The entire premise, plot, and plot development of the movie just seemed extremely half-baked and poorly done. Many parts of the movie just weren't believable or made little to no rational sense. I could probably talk about how bad it is for an extremely long time but the point is made, it was bad. Acting : The acting was severely lacking and did not seem natural at all. I'm certain some of this had to do with the writing because a lot of the lines in the movie were poor but the actors portrayal of their roles seemed all of the place and the emotional response that should be triggered by good acting was non-existent. Their lines seemed forced. I honestly think that a significant portion of what made the acting bad was the bad writing, but this would only cause me to want to give a 1.5/10 if possible but it's a not worth a 2/10 so it stays a 1. Plot/Time line : The plot development and time line did not seem to progress smoothly. It was as if their way of portraying the passing of time was just the main character brooding constantly. I could not tell if the movie was supposed to take place in the span of a couple days or a month or maybe it was years, probably not years but basically unable to tell. It probably did not help that I was laughing at how bad it was half the time and wondering if it could get any worse. Effects : I will just briefly touch on this. The special effects were lacking in many areas, such as the action. There was continuity issues in a least a few places. Lack of typical combat effects, blood and the like. It was a low budget film so some of that is excusable, but the basics should not have been missing.Overall : Great movie to watch for what-not-to-dos. Bad movie to watch if you want quality entertainment.
midge56 I strongly disagree with the other reviewer's fixer suggestions. Those were clearly the suggestions only a 20 year old would like with no consideration of what OTHER viewers might like. The first problem was nobody over 21 wants to see a movie which is nothing but a bunch of kids as the sole focus of the movie. Especially wearing cookpots on their heads & stupid pieces of debris & crushed cans, etc. What is this... an "Our Gang" episode? No. You don't need to fill the show with fake blood as suggested unless you want to lose what little audience you had... not to mention damage your rating further. That again is something a juvenile would want. Adults do not need graphic violence to enjoy a movie. Nor should a writer present his work for the opinions & criticisms of the cast & crew. He may be a bad writer but that would end his career permanently if he asked for suggestions. The only opinions a writer can afford to request is from a trusted friend or spouse. However, a good director should have held a script review with the cast & writer where issues would be discussed in general. However, he was right about no parent allowing their child or teen to watch this movie. Since no adult wants to watch a bunch of self denigrating kids with 1930's style cookpots, makeshift swords, etc. All we were missing was the beanie with the propeller. That leaves you with the low end of the 17-21 age groups for an audience. Parents wont allow anyone younger to attend. Adults don't want to watch a movie about confused kids. Remember what happened to "Last action hero"? The audience came to see Schwarzenegger as the star. Not a kid. The movie failed miserably. It takes a rare quality family show with a great story like Harry Potter, Enders Game or Daryl for a film starring kids to be a success. The majority of the movie should have been on the Skyark with plenty of clean technology & more about the conditions, the rebels, the interactions between the Skyark groups & their families. Not violence & endless battles. Also, a better ending on the Skyark. We don't need more dirt or scroungier kids either. Nor do we need to see a B movie Zombie show. Again, that is something a juvenile would come up with. Those fixer suggestions would have done worse, not better. You needed to find a better premise & plot instead of dumping a group of confused kids into a Zombie version of Our Gang. I do agree that these kids had no idea what they were doing & the dialogue & actions were clearly missing direction & guidance. No one wants to see constant self denial & lack of energy from any actor. Much less children. I cannot understand how anyone could throw away good money to produce a film without ensuring they have a good story and competent actors which would compel an audience to watch it.He was right that you should consider the age group you are targeting. Despite starring kids, this was not fit for kids or families & is not a theme for adults either. Just that slim 17-21 age group. As it is, this movie is a waste of time. Too violent for kids & unpalatable for adults.
afouchs It's my first review on IMDb and it will serve a sole purpose: I hope that reading this will make at least one person step away from this flick and save his soul (or at least his time).Bad movies are my guilty pleasure, B movie as well and i'll watch birdemic or zombeaver any day. But this film is nonsensical, mediocre, boring and cringe-worthy every second. On the plus side, the story might remotely make some sense, and I've seen worst FX for that kind of budget. But for the rest: I hate every single character, the direction is abysmal, the score is too heavy (ear that piano chump! Now be sad we command you!). No one seem to have the slightest bit of common sense Most reaction are either cliché or completely idiotic. The cast tries way too hard being cool and they all fail miserably. The pacing is out of this world and will bore you to death.I have had no fun whatsoever watching this film: It's so boring that (and i'm not kidding here) played farmville during the movie and I couldn't care less.I wish future me would travel in time and punch me in the face for watching this. So please don't be as foolish as myself and run away from this piece of mental abuse.
