Excellent, smart action film.

There is just so much movie here. For some it may be too much. But in the same secretly sarcastic way most telemarketers say the phrase, the title of this one is particularly apt.

I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.

When I first heard about this movie, I was expecting a movie up to par with the 1984 "classic"! Sadly this movie has little to do with Chester Novell Turner's movie. The plot follows a young women (a very busty and attractive one) who is bored and decides to play with wedgie board (spelled wrong). This brings back the soul of a 1960s black panther inside of the doll. That is basically the plot. The movie it's self very unfunny. The problem is the writer's attempt to be controversial without an real sense of humor. I feel like the movie was written by 13 year olds, especially with all the homophobic humor and nudity. Even if you view this with the notion of it being one of those movies so bad it is good, then you are out of luck. The original film is one of those movies. This is not, because there is not enough bad material to have that mark. It is also surprising slow at some parts. Not really worth a watch, just go see the original if you really want a good laugh!

I have been seeing promos and clips of this film for months, so you can imagine how excited I was to finally get to see it. This was going to be way better than all those Chucky movies. This movie is the very definition of blaxploitation. Every stereotype you can imagine is in here.In addition every sexual act that you can imagine is in here too. I won't list them, but your perversion has to be included. The blood flows freely after Devil Doll is through with the women, and in one case, with the man.The bulk of the blood and all the gore was saved for the ending, which was so over the top I watched with my mouth wide open.

On the night of murderous black militant Mubia Abul-Jama's execution, ditsy chunky (but decently hot) chick Heather Murphy resurrects Abul-Jama's soul via her Ouija board which transports into a nearby ventriloquist doll. It doesn't take long before jive-talking, badly stereotyped Black Devil Doll whips his Black Devil Dick out and proceeds to tap that Heather booty several times over before he convinces her to call all of her hot, slutty, cracker friends over so he can get further satisfaction. Sure enough, her hot, slutty, cracker friends (Christine Svendsen, Erika Branich, Precious Cox, and Natasha Talonz) come over and engage in ALL kinds of dirty, sexual shenanigans and tomfoolery that has BDD getting all kinds of horny. When Heather leaves, the rape and murder fest beings as BDD systematically kills and rapes (or rapes and kills) each women, while Heather's out eating a bunch of big macs. Black Devil Doll has only one goal in mind, which is to offend and titillate everyone and anyone who watches this. This film is so over-the-top racist and sexist that it's bound to upset anyone who offends easily and is completely dumbass enough to watch this movie. As a fan of offensive material, I could not get enough of this movie. I laughed almost the whole way through it. Let's not forget the 5 beautiful women (especially Branich, Cox and Talonz) who are pretty much consistently naked throughout the entire movie. Talonz sex scene with BDD easily rivals the marionette sex scene of Team American in its over-the-top, almost hardcore (almost) pornographic intentions. Black Devil Doll is what independent cinema wet dreams are made of. I absolutely loved this hot mess!

This was another film I was on the fence about. It grabbed the midnight slot at the Fangoria Festival which was appropriate. There's nothing mainstream about this movie, even though the plot was stolen from the Chucky series. The "twist" is that it's a black radical, serial killer who gets reincarnated as a dummy. The puppet struts around talking ridiculous jive lingo. He assaults and tortures a lot of naked white actresses. There's even an Ouija board explanation thrown in for good measure. It's obviously intended to be outrageous and offensive. No one mistook this for a serious horror flick. BDD was even genuinely hilarious at times. I've got to admit that I was a little troubled by the fact that it seemed to reinforce so many negative stereotypes. As d-lewis points out in his review, there's a fine line between spoofing racial stereotypes and feeding into them, especially when you're as white as the filmmakers who manned BDD's Fangoria table.
