TrueJoshNight Truly Dreadful Film
Protraph Lack of good storyline.
Brendon Jones It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.
Micah Lloyd Excellent characters with emotional depth. My wife, daughter and granddaughter all enjoyed it...and me, too! Very good movie! You won't be disappointed.
Leofwine_draca BLOODWOOD CANNIBALS is once again another dull indie horror flick set in the local woods. A couple of extremely lame Bigfoot hunters head off on a hunt for a remarkable creature, but instead find a random cannibal tribe with a penchant for human flesh. What follows is an odyssey of wooden acting, terrible costumes, cheap gore effects, and very bad action scenes, although not until the very end. It's lame and inane.
Woodyanders The crew of the reality TV series "Hunting the Unknown" venture into the remote wilderness to film a segment on Bigfoot. Instead they stumble across a lethal clan of ferocious feral cannibals. Writer/director Joshua A. Siegel relates the entertaining story at a brisk pace, delivers a handy helping of gruesome gore, makes good use of the isolated sylvan setting, develops a reasonable amount of tension, and tops everything off with an amusing sense of lowbrow humor. Moreover, it's acted with zest by an enthusiastic cast, with especially commendable work from Nathan Anthony Carter as pompous charlatan show host Nigel Thorne, Kate Forsyth Corey as spunky long-suffering producer Lindsey Amos, Matthew Corbett Davis as rugged guide Roy Henderson, Siegel as obnoxious jerk Dave Nelson, Darren Courtney as amiable cameraman Mark Cavanaugh, and Cori Jenab as eager rookie TJ Lane. The flesh-eating freaks are pretty frightening: Joe Calavita makes a strong impression as fearsome leader Big Papa and Steve I. Everson is quite unnerving as the maniacal Hyena. The grim tone gets more progressively bleak and upsetting as the plot unfolds. Everson's crisp cinematography provides a pleasing polished look. The lively primal score by Brent Walsh and Martijn de Man does the rousing trick. A solid little shocker.
Scott Rosen I have to give credit to the producer. He had a vision of making a little Horror flick with heart, and he made lemonade out of lemons. This film is entertaining for the low-budget indie audience. "Bloodwood Cannibals" certainly won't be nominated for an Oscar, but I could see this little film easily becoming a cult classic. There were two actors I thought gave decent performances. Some of the other's should either take classes, or never show themselves in public again. The blood, guts, violence & gore were amusing & I laughed. Some of the special effects were terrible, yet I understood what the director was aiming for. The story was written well, and the scenery throughout the film is quite beautiful. We all have to start somewhere in our career. Johnny Depp's first role in "Private Resort" is a prime example. This is the type of film I'd watch again with friends to share a few laughs.
LevelEightParanormal This is a movie that interested me from the time I picked up the DVD case. My wife and I watched the movie and enjoyed the storyline. I will not give away the story but it is a good twist on the cannibal genre. If you truly want to enjoy this movie, be sure to watch the extras and go to the websites that are mentioned. The acting is what it is. The special effects are good for the budget. I would to see more about the background of the character Nigel. I would like to know what exactly happened to him that made him famous. I hope there is a sequel, or a prequel. I will definitely be waiting for it. I hope they have a bigger budget for the next movie, I know the director has the right ideas to change cannibal movies for the better.
