Self-important, over-dramatic, uninspired.

Perfectly adorable

if their story seems completely bonkers, almost like a feverish work of fiction, you ain't heard nothing yet.

There are moments that feel comical, some horrific, and some downright inspiring but the tonal shifts hardly matter as the end results come to a film that's perfect for this time.

I liked the main cast. They had great potential. The premise is suppose to be about a sicko making movies...well...did they make movies - yes. I liked the fact that the women TRIED to escape the psycho but of course FAILED as in most horror movies. Do they all die in the end...well of course (I HATE THIS). I would say that the movie HAD potential but things came out of left field..when was the Sheriff killed...hmmm. Needed a lot of things explained and tied up. Let me see if my best friend were killed by a psycho would I just blow my head off???? Have to think about that. Thought they were going to make a Carver II before "our hero" got his throat cut. If you want a lot of blood - OK. If you want plot - not bad. If you want to feel like "this is a great horror movie" um well...NO. I would just love to take this premise and START OVER because it had such potential. Explain the brothers relationship in the beginning. Why are they such sickos? OH WELL, being born on Halloween guess I am more critical. As Horror Movies go...not the worst I have seen and not the best. If you want a lot of fake blood, knives and nails ..go for it.

I watched Carver with my girlfriend a few nights ago and as I was watching I soon realized that this movie was following the simple rules of dying in a horror movie. You know, sex, drugs/drinking, camping in the middle of nowhere, helping out some creepy guy in a diner.Although the death scenes were very predictable and I was found saying "Well, he's going to die." It still kept me entertained with a lot of bloody scenes, including one that will make the guys, like me, cringe in their seats. The ending was a little bizarre, but again predictable, something about having a character in the movie with the last name Carver sort of gave it away, but it was a very clean and what I like to call a "That's gonna be a sequel," ending. All in all this was a very good effort by a lower budget company and they deserve any and all props for this movie. The actors put forth an awesome effort especially that of main actor, Neil Kubath, who I think will have a very good career ahead of him in the coming years. This movie is totally worth the watch.Congrats to all for an awesome job.

Lots of blood, lots of gore and no storyline, that sums up Carver. Some movies try to be so shocking they comprise the plot, this is one such film. Carver is neither original, nor groundbreaking; I have seen torture done far too often now days, from Flower of Flesh and Blood to Hostel this upcoming genre has become main stream in my eyes. Carver claims to be based on a true story, which tells a tale about five unlikable yuppies that embark on a camping trip and end up disappearing. Well, actually we see them get horrible mutilated, dismembered and decapitated one by one with no motive. Carver delivers a plethora of scenes that contain blood and torture done extremely believable. The camera work is excellent and the acting is passable, but there is no reason to watch this movie other then to be shocked and regardless of what you hear, there is no twist ending. My recommendation is to rent Carver first because I think most will watch it only once.

Decent gore hampered by an unoriginal, over-done, seen it all before, becoming quite redundant, for the love of God... Story. This is a real shame, because I truly enjoyed everything else about "Carver". It's shot well, the acting is solid and for the most part it is a strong contender to be a stand out horror film. But, instead follows the same olé' boring formulas of a thousand other (better) movies. Director Franklin Guerrero has the eye to make a real name for himself in the business, but first he must trust his "Own" abilities and stop trying to remake other peoples work. And as far as the whole "Based on a true story" (Crap) is concerned, it's just that, and no-one is buying it anymore so you can leave it off the packaging. I look forward to seeing what Mr. Guerrero can do with a story that he writes himself, and not after watching "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" followed by "The Hills Have Eyes" as a double feature with "Hostel" and then going to his neighbor's house to watch "Vacancy" and "Wrong Turn"....Originality is a key element in this genre... Try it, you might be surprised.
