You put two of the greatest b-movie action stars in a movie. And you don't have them fight. The story is not as original as the wrighter/director thinks, so it's an anti climax when the movie stars don't get to do what they're good at. All-in-all, this is a cheap ass action movie with a bunch of famous actors.

I watched the whole thing, but was angry. I am A tolerant movie fan and will forgive many things -- BUT I WON'T FORGIVE HOLES IN THE PLOT which rival a black hole in space it is so freaking huge and sucks so bad. It began to form like this: this EXPERT group of thieves with high-tech equipment and a perfect plan rob a bank, AND one of them is even A FORMER DETECTIVE ! BUT SOMEHOW NOBODY KNOWS ABOUT LEAVING FINGERPRINTS !!!!!! Are you FREAKING kidding me !!! The computer hacker in the 'crew' leaves his prints all over the BANK'S COMPUTER !!?? THIS IS INSANE, STUPID, RIDICULOUS, ABSURD, IDIOTIC, AND INFURIATING. This clever crew has this really clever plan, but one guy leaves his prints... F - Me! As if that's not enough, after the robbery one thief, who's been to prison, goes to his girlfriend's house, which the cops have on record .... DUH !! I think I saw this in a 1930s gangster movie and it's been done 1000 times since then. Another crew member goes to his home. Smart! There are other problems too, but I've wasted enough time on this exhibition of idiocy they try to call a movie. How do they get away with it??! I hope someone lost a pile of money producing this farce.

This is one of the movies you have to follow closely, popping into kitchen or toilet could impair your understanding what is really going on, and if/how the different events are connected. The distinction of good/bad guys obtains another meaning and even if you realize that something is happening inside the police, it is not easy to find out who and why... That is why I liked the movie in spite of lots of clichés (especially during chases) and non-top-class actors (e.g. Jason Statham is not bad, but he is still no Bruce Willis or Mel Gibson). Ryan Phillipe and Wesley Snipes were surprisingly good, their characters were realistic and elaborated. Well, in fact, it turned out, that everything was planned... And as mistakes were basic, so the ending is logical. Recommendable to those fond of mind-twisting during the course of a move.

... But not so much really. Guess that's why I had never heard of it before I saw it listed in the satellite guide. Snipes and Statham, should be reasonably good, but the plot, dialog, and plot devices were just painful. After the setup and opening scenes, we are at a bank robbery hostage situation; the bank blows up, and all the hostages and robbers escape in the confusion. I mean explosions that blow the facade off a building almost never hurt the people inside, right? And then when the police were staking out the bad guys, and one of the police officers' pager goes off causes a shoot out; I almost deleted the recording right then and there. Also, Phillippe really can't pull off the smart / tough cop character he is trying to play.Thecnically the film looked good, and there were a couple of interesting plot twists in the second half that surprised me, but the poor dialog and improbable plot devices just over powered what little good was in the movie. It might be good enough to keep teenage boys entertained for two hours.
