Chirphymium It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional
Salubfoto It's an amazing and heartbreaking story.
Plustown A lot of perfectly good film show their cards early, establish a unique premise and let the audience explore a topic at a leisurely pace, without much in terms of surprise. this film is not one of those films.
Calum Hutton It's a good bad... and worth a popcorn matinée. While it's easy to lament what could have been...
Wizard-8 I got this movie via one of those Mill Creek Entertainment DVD packs that came with three other movies. I decided to watch the movie because I wanted to see what a modern day Mexican comedy was like. After watching it, I have no desire to watch any other offerings from that particular genre. There are many problems with the movie, but what I objected to most of all was the sorry script. Its story is pretty formula and stretched out past the breaking point. Actually, that might have not been so bad had there been plenty of funny gags along the way, but that's not the case. For one thing, the movie comes off more like a somewhat lighthearted drama than a comedy, and when the movie DOES try to be funny, the gags are lame and obvious. It doesn't help that the central character is quite obnoxious, so there's nothing funny about her. Also, I feel I should mention that if it weren't for the occasional uses of nudity and foul language, I would have sworn that this was a made for television effort instead of a feature film; the movie's low budget is painfully evident throughout. The best I can say for the movie is that it isn't as bad as most of the movies coming from my country (Canada).
fabrini88 OMG. I saw this movie on net flix. Thankfully I didn't go to the movies to see this one... bad bad.. in the horrible sense. And my wife's opinion is the same.As other reviews say, it is full of clichés, predictable scenes, corny dialog, bad jokes, nothing elseThe only charm about this one is Camila Sodi. - my wife didn't comment on that :) I don't know how we stayed awake the whole movie, I guess we where waiting for some unsuspected plot twist... not! I think I'm going to go vomit now.
kakashi109114 i think this movie was pretty cool i don't what everyone's talking bout every movie is filled with stereotypes anyways so y complain? its awesome and if u don't want to buy it then rent it no ones obligating u to buy it ^^ I'm Mexican and when people say that the movie is an insult to the Mexican industry i would have to strongly disagree i have seen way too many Mexican movies for my own good and this one is pretty awesome and people say that its pornographic or that guys only watch it because of naked girls then they're severely wrong there are many other Mexican films that have more nudity and sex than this movie overall GREAT film ^^
drummsplayer Ninas Mal or Charm School will make you smile and feel good!!! In a very nice pace, Charm School shows a very real part of Mexican society. Yes,it portrays the lives of the upper classes!!! Although the movie might represent wealthy Mexicans as shallow or corrupt, it expresses certain facts and deeper problems of today's society. In the middle of it all, the main characters are real and one could identify with either of them. They go beyond their local scene when they make you think about family, love, sex or politics. And, they make you wonder about yourself and your own life!!! Once more, these people tell you that you have to fight, in this new millennium, for what you believe in!!! A must see!!!
