Synopsis

Christian Blake is the story of a solitary young man growing up with his closest friend Steve. Unable to handle Steve's flowering relationship with Lucy, Christian becomes obsessed, with tragic consequences. Years later, in a barely functioning mental asylum run by the sadistic Dr Rush and his tormented accomplice Floyd, the journalist Sandra White is allowed a meeting with Christian under the guise of attempting to understand the actions of his past. Her motives are otherwise however and her efforts at personal retribution simply result in awakening the anger dormant inside of him. The results are violent and catastrophic for all involved.

Fairaher The film makes a home in your brain and the only cure is to see it again.
mraculeated The biggest problem with this movie is it’s a little better than you think it might be, which somehow makes it worse. As in, it takes itself a bit too seriously, which makes most of the movie feel kind of dull.
Yash Wade Close shines in drama with strong language, adult themes.
Raymond Sierra The film may be flawed, but its message is not.
fizzy It just doesn't make any sense. Its nearly always dark and when its not it has this weird effect on it. I don't even know where the unrequited love for the best friend comes from. Or how he's gay. The acting's terrible. Its just what you would expect from first timers. Don't watch!
celticeilidh There isn't much good to be said about this film, it's bloody awful. Poorly written, poorly directed with amateurish acting. None of the actors seem well trained in their craft, then again they really don't have much to work with; due to severely under-lit gloomy settings three of the male characters resemble each other and I wasn't sure whether they were cops, bad guys or prison attendants. Time shifts in the story make it really hard to follow with uneventful, lame flashbacks. Unnecessary colour filters over key scenes are annoying & one can only presume that they were added to hide production errors or in an attempt to add some much needed tension. The 'action' scenes consist of attendants from the prison/dungeon running around swearing, and the 'payoffs' are excruciatingly inept. Really, don't bother.
movieman_kev Under the care of a suspicious doctor, Christian Blake (writer/director Eoin Macken), confined in a mental institution has to deal with the repercussions of his actions taken with his ex-best friend Steve whom he feels betrayed him. We also learn more of the story within flashbacks. This low budget film started off badly and just rapidly degenerated right before me eyes. The first part of the film is bad but passable (barely) but once the film comes back from the flashback it's mind-blowingly awful. Macken's poor POOR mans' Hannibal Lecter-esquire Christian, illogical plot, & horrid direction all combine into a putrid concoction that is hard to sit through. But truth be told, I'm more saddened that I wasted my Netflix que on this turkey than anything else.my grade: FDVD Extras: Music video; photo gallery; Contact details (so send all blame that way); & a trailer for the film
Kellie Stewart I watched this movie because it sounded promising and needed 5 votes. I hope it never gets the 5 votes because I hope no one else wastes their time on it. I was ready to stop watching it within the first 10 minutes, but I stuck through to the end, which was very predictable, so I could write an honest review. There is nothing about this moving that makes it worth watching. The acting is poor, the story is poor, the scene lighting is poor, and the believability of Christians actions as a whole is poor. I did not see the need for him to be sexually harassed by the very people that were supposed to help him because he had a fondness for his best friend. Probably the only friend he ever had. Love for someone of the same gender does not make you homosexual, nor should it invite homosexual advances from seemingly heterosexual people. Scene to scene it is not cohesive. The way they chose to light the "murder" scenes did not add to the action that was supposed to be going on. In the end, the reasoning for the most active part of the movie falls apart because Christian doing what he did would not have made sense if he was doing it to right something he would have been responsible for. The end was absolutely laughable and as I said predictable. There were so many things, such as initial setting that should have better explained at the beginning. I truly hope this review does not peak anyones curiosity enough to make them watch this movie because it truly was one of the lousiest movies I have ever had the displeasure to sit through.
