Synopsis

Coming & Going is an irreverent romantic comedy that poses the question: How far would you go to capture the heart of the one you love? Lee (Rhys Darby) is a young, skilled OBGYN who lacks confidence when it comes to talking to women outside his successful medical practice. A minor injury temporarily lands him in a wheelchair and it is at that precise time that he meets his dream girl Alex (Sasha Alexander). Convinced she's only paid attention to him because he's in that chair, he stays in it to win her affections well after his injury has healed. Coming & Going is about love and the extreme things people do for it.

Inclubabu Plot so thin, it passes unnoticed.

Luecarou What begins as a feel-good-human-interest story turns into a mystery, then a tragedy, and ultimately an outrage.
mraculeated The biggest problem with this movie is it’s a little better than you think it might be, which somehow makes it worse. As in, it takes itself a bit too seriously, which makes most of the movie feel kind of dull.
Amy Adler Dr. Lee (Rhys Darby) is a transplanted Brit and an OB-GYN working in the Los Angeles area. At work, he is very confident that he can provide excellent care to his patients and good bedside manner, too. But, away from the office or hospital, he is very shy around women. He makes blind dates and then becomes a no-show. His aunt, Irma, lives next door and worries very much about his future romantic happiness. One day, he has a fall and is confined to a wheelchair for a week. Wouldn't you know, a beautiful lady, Alex (Sasha Alexander) accidentally stumbles over him on a sidewalk, not watching where she is going, and a conversation ensues. For the first time in a great while, Lee can actually talk to a woman without hesitation, mostly because Alex takes an interest in him. Soon, they make arrangements to meet again but although Irma asks him to tell Alex the truth, Lee only feels confident that he has Alex's attention when he is seemingly disabled. This charade goes on quite awhile, with Alex admitting she wants to "date" Lee. Now what will he do? Meanwhile, Alex's sister and brother-in-law, a character on a children's show, are pregnant but is the baby the husband's or is the fetus' father the one "afternoon stand" wife had with a co-worker? Here are some problems two couples will have to work out indeed! This is a sweet and funny romcom that should please fans. Yes, it has a small bit of risqué material but, overall, is quite wonderful. (There is one scene involving a Chihuahua that will upset viewers, push the fast forward button). Darby is very funny, resembling Dudley Moore, and Alexander makes a beautiful love interest. All of the other cast members do fine work, too. This viewer also loved the nice costumes, sets, funny situations and well-paced direction. jellicle-4 Sasha Alexander is my favorite actress, so naturally the prospect of watching her in a starring role was more than intriguing. I loved the entire movie and by the end of the film I was amazed by the entire thing! The writing and directing were superb and the plot kept me engaged. I was laughing the entire time and loved the ending. I am giving copies of the DVD to everyone I know so they can experience Coming And Going. Everyone has loved it just as I expected they would! Sasha Alexander was brilliant as Alex and I also must applaud both Rhys Darby and Finnoula Flanagan for their hilarity as well because they add so much to the complex humor that I loved upon first viewing. This is a film I have seen many a time and will enjoy it forever. It's that genius and I love it.
reneelizabeth143 The TNT movie Coming & Going was absolutely spectacular!!! The whole cast & crew should be proud of their amazing work. Sasha tweeted me & told me the movie was made in only 23 days & on a low budget. That movie was the best one I've seen in a long time , if not my favorite movie of all time. The main reason I watched it was because of Sasha , but after seeing it I want to watch it again & again just to watch her & the other actors/actresses. If you haven't yet seen it I suggest that everyone sees it , you will be blown away by the awesomeness & genius that is Coming & Going. I have to write one last line & I will use it to say that this movie is incredible. I watched it two times the night it came out.
chanceofrainne Very cute movie, lighthearted, somewhat adult in nature (mind the little ones - you might have to explain some things!). Funny and sweet in the right places. I was quite surprised to learn that this was a 100% indie project - it has the look and feel of a standard-budget cute summer romcom. The actors are not necessarily well known, though Sasha Alexander's name might be familiar to more people now she's got a hit show, but they're comedy genius. Fionnula Flanagan is terrific as the nosy aunt who lives next door, Rhys Darby is perfect in the role of the guy who just can't get it together enough to make it with a girl, and Alexander is perfect in her role as the girl who's given up on guys (but not completely). Definitely recommend this movie to anyone (though like I said, mind the little ones, as there are definitely a few, um, "adult" moments).
