Story: It's very simple but honestly that is fine.

I remember watching the original "Crank" and remembering how ridiculous it was. It's great that we have such an outrageous sequel. It's weird, because I'm one of those people who complains about stupid action movies. This actually worked for me mostly because it didn't take itself seriously at all. It's a film that openly relishes in how insane it is. Even the outtakes are nice and it shows that the people working on it had a good time! It's said there were 164 f-words in this movie. The last half hour have relatively few as there's little talking, but I only counted 160! I admit they do repeat stuff from the first film like the sex scene. Why is it that every movie not screened for critics has never had a higher rating on this website than 6.2? Is that some magic number? Anyway, this is extremely offensive, but also quite entertaining. ***

The adrenaline rush never stops. The razor-sharp humor and nonstop action are back...and then some. As usual, Chev has to race against time or risk dying, but it isn't because of the poison we saw last time; it's because the villains took his heart and replaced it with an artificial one that has a less-than-reliable battery pack. The trademark "Mission Impossible" type formula is back with a vengeance: fight some villains, consult the doctor, spend time with girlfriend...in no particular order.Once again, there is the usual motley crew of characters who are alongside Chev: gangsters, exotic dancers, adult film stars, the works. The action scenes are definitely ones for the books. Take what you saw in the first "Crank" and then amp it up by, say, twenty. The subtitle is absolutely perfect because that's the pace for which the movie goes: high voltage. Let's face it: the man has nine lives and can't be put down so easily...but don't tell the villains that.Like the one before it, this is another feel-good movie that will boost your spirits if you had a bad day and you feel like hitting something.

There are films that should be taken seriously, and there are those that should not. This is in the latter category. If you don't expect much more that fast-paced action, impossible outcomes, lots of skin, crazy and hilarious scenes and gratuitous violence, then you won't be disappointed in High Voltage.Mr. Statham turns in his usual and brilliant performance. Ms. Smart does the same. This is a guy's night out flick. Get some beer, get some pizza, sit down and prepare to laugh. The cast and crew obviously had a lot of fun putting this thing together. I sure had fun watching it and was laughing so hard at times that I had to wipe tears from my eyes.

This was equally as good as the first Crank, although in saying that you've also then seen it all before so it loses some of its uniqueness and crazy charm.Anyways, its another adrenaline filled hot mess, with indestructible hit man Chev Chelios trying to find the Chinese Gangster who harvested his heart. He's been outfitted with an electronic one that requires a blast of electricity to keep pumping as he again wreaks havoc on LA in his quest. All the faces from the original return (in very clever ways) as well as Bai Ling who was just freakin' nuts but very in tune with the whole vibe. There was a lot of gratuitous T&A this time around and a couple scenes I actually had to turn away from (slicing off of elbows and nipples) We also get a redeux of the public sex scene, this time at the race track and it was just hilarious.I love the way this is filmed, all choppy and random. I may have seen it all before but I'd watch another one of these movies. The outtakes during the credits are very funny too. 01.15.14
