A film with more than the usual spoiler issues. Talking about it in any detail feels akin to handing you a gift-wrapped present and saying, "I hope you like it -- It's a thriller about a diabolical secret experiment."

One of those movie experiences that is so good it makes you realize you've been grading everything else on a curve.

All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

What a dumb movie. This is horror for 7-year olds. Just a whole bunch of genre cliches thrown together. Can't believe all these marvelous reviews. Who wrote those? Kids? Utterly silly attempt to make a scary 'oh-the-woods-are-creepy!' flick.
PS: The Ardennes was a far entertaining movie, watch that one instead.

I found this film online and almost didn't watch it because of the negative vitriol of IMDb reviewers, who many times must be kids or your adults with very narrow minds. I decided to rent it and wow what a great film, casting spot on but what really blows me away is the story. Wow.. someone in the US should consider releasing this to the US. I just cannot believe who well crafted this story is and the ending is fantastic.. a rare feat in horror. I am posting this review since IMDb is littering with hateful reviews of most films that shows that truly anyone that can read and write can post a review for the world to see. Now it's my turn and I will start reviewing films weekly and if I don't have anything positive to review I will not make one. The value here is a gem of a horror film with a great story, cast and direction. This film is one of my top 10 favorite Horror films I have found this year (even though it's from 2014) Give it a chance you may be shocked and truly entertained!

I was actually drawn in by the interesting cover art, but after reading a few of the reviews, I thought I'd check it out. I'm certainly glad I did.A group of cub scouts head out into the forest to do what cub scouts do best. Dick around, play with knives, burn stuff, sleep outdoors. The plot quickly turns near the beginning of the film, and don't think that just because it has children in the cast that it won't be violent. It's a slasher flick undoubtedly, but the viewer should be aware that it doesn't focus particularly on gore. It definitely plays with a few different horror themes, and it's slightly reminiscent of 'The Hills Have Eyes.' It's not an overtly SCARY film, but it does have some pretty gruesome deaths. It's actually the characters that make this film. The main boy does a very good job of walking the line between a normal little boy, and a child who can't tell the difference between right and wrong. The cub leaders didn't do too bad as the main adult leads, but it was the boy 'Kai" that I really loved. He's the one on the cover of the film. I loved how deranged he was throughout the film. You're never really certain if he's friend or foe until the end... I won't ruin it, but I was surprised the way the film makers went with that.Anyways, a couple of decent shocks. Nothing really special, but worth a watch if you got the time.5.5/10

Some films resonate a story so superb that it stays with you forever. I feel that way with "Cub". I wouldn't be surprised if this was picked up and made for the American audience since Hollywood has completely run out of original stories... or should I say created a studio nepotism that makes it so the cream does not go to the top. This film is not in English so I'm sure very few in the US have seen it. It's is worth every minute of your time! This film has it all.. I won't go into details.. but the protagonist's journey is wonderfully constructed, a great cast, beautifully shot and to mention once more.. one of the best stories in the horror genre in years!
