everything you have heard about this movie is true.

It was OK. I don't see why everyone loves it so much. It wasn't very smart or deep or well-directed.

Each character in this movie — down to the smallest one — is an individual rather than a type, prone to spontaneous changes of mood and sometimes amusing outbursts of pettiness or ill humor.

The storyline feels a little thin and moth-eaten in parts but this sequel is plenty of fun.

Eight strangers awaken with no memory and find themselves in a puzzling cube shaped room where the laws of physics do not always apply. This sequel is directed by Andrzej Sekuła, more often known as a cinematographer; films shot by him include "American Psycho", "Hackers", "Vacancy", and "Armored". That list of credits might make you suspect this is going to be a great film, but you probably would be wrong. Some of what happens in this film is interesting. The general premise is not all that changed from the original. However, it gets a bit more abstract and I am not sure if the science really adds up. Making matters worse, the computer effects are pretty sloppy. They just look bad, plain and simple.

Having been released five years after the first one, this film seems to take things to a whole new level. As much as I loved said film for its grittiness and claustrophobia, this one is a little bit more disturbing.Kate, A psychotherapist, finds herself in the titular place as she soon meets Simon, a blatantly aggressive detective. She later comes across Sasha, a young blind woman, sitting in the corner of another room. Moments later, they meet Jerry, a technical engineer, along with Max, a computer hacker, as well as Julia, an attorney, and Mrs. Paley, a seemingly dementic former mathematician. All seven of them unite as they search for a way out. But the chips go down as many of them come clean and reveal to have been working for a company named Izon: Jerry reveals that he designed the entry doors, Simon reveals that he had been in search of an Izon employee named Becky Young, Julia reveals her duty to representing the company, and Sasha has known more than she had been leading on; she reveals that she is in fact Alex Trusk, a computer hacker behind said cube. What I specifically liked about this movie is the psychological tension it has, not that the first one didn't already have that. What I mean is the way this film uses that. Whereas the first one had death-traps, this one uses portals of some kind to wipe out its victims. What makes it even more disturbing is what they actually do to them; do they leave them trapped in other dimensions? Do they erase them from existence? The less I know the better, I guess. Is this film without its flaws? Definitely not. The Special effects aren't that good and the acting is far below average. But other than that, it's not that bad.

I had just watched the first cube, and thought it was amazing. I couldn't wait, I had to see the squeal right away. I had a feeling it wouldn't be as good, but I at least hoped for something decent. Anyway...THE PREMISE: The idea here was decent, the idea of being stuck in a 4-D cube where its inter-workings are unknown. Unfortunately, over half of the plot points are just recycled from the first movie. You have the characters not remembering how they got there, remembering the last thing they did, numbers that have some unknown significance, an impaired character that knows something important, and even another physco killer. Not to mention the ending, which is interesting, but too vague to give any real closure. THE ACTING/CHARACTERS: This is one of the movies weakest points. The acting is either to casual, or too cartoony. None of it is convincing. Because of this, the characters don't feel real at all. Furthermore, you don't care when bad stuff is happening to them, it's about as non-moving as a story can be. This is especially a pity, considering how strong the first movies characters were. THE FX: It has some interesting FX, some are a bit creative. But they are too cheap and random-looking, that they don't feel the least bit threatening. Jerry's death scene is especially laughable. I respect it for trying to be different and creative, but it ultimately falls flat on its face.

SPOILER WARNING: Plot was a little weak, because there were some body language clues from Kate in the very beginning that suggested she was not like the others.. also the plot revolved about the history and real life of everyone but Kate. Throughout the movie we knew something was off about Kate.I was a little disappointed in this plot since none of the characters really came up with a sound plan to "figure out" the cube. It was too much flying by the seat of their pants...Did not have the same methodological calculating attempts by the characters as portrayed in the first movie The Cube..However, was still a little entertaining to see what surprise each room held.
