I don't get why this isn't rated higher. I haven't been this creeped out and disturbed by a movie since the original Halloween. I think James Wan needs to get more props for his movies. I thought it was extremely well done and Wan also somehow added a little bit of the old "creepy haunted house" within the movie with, in a way, a touch of the old Frankenstein movies feel to it with the Gothic-like dark and misty scenes that he wove into it. This is a must see movie. The best horror movie I've seen in a long, long time.

Wow, where to begin with this movie... I took my two kids, Leliana and Tony, to see it in theaters and we were not disappointed!This movie was perfect for my kids, cause they love dolls and stuff like that. It was very family-friendly, taught good lessons about being nice to old people, and it even inspired my daughter's new hobby of collecting dolls! Billy is just so charming, with his little tuxedo and red bow-tie. I think it's funny that this movie got misplaced in the "horror" genre.Anyways, 10/10! Very cute movie.*Ok, but seriously, this movie scared the crap out of me...

Being a fan Leigh Whannell I didn't doubt I would likely enjoy this movie. I cannot be anything more than true to myself and say I though it was brilliant.For me a horror movie isn't a realistic dramatic masterpiece, it must have some kind of imagination and creation to its story. I think dead silence did very well in that respect. The story, although it follows the typical horror movie path, does veer off into something a little more fresh. Going in deeper than normal into certain characters back story is a great addition.This movie has some really great old skool scares. So if you like the jumpy horror movies like I do then give it a try.

If you want a 90's horror made recently, this is what somewhere close."Was it interesting?" The basic story was alright if just a retooling of a classic plot. Some of the characters were asking to die, but not all.1.5 out of 3."Was it memorable?" The doll was mostly disappointing, just there to be creepy. The antagonist was rather cliché.1 out of 3."Was it entertaining?" Most of this movie was just bad writing with even worse dialog. Special effects were fine though cheap.1 out of 3.Starting with 1 (because the bad writers want it that way), 1 + 1.5 + 1 + 1 = 4.5 This is definitely a 4. This is a movie that was made 2 decades too late.
