StunnaKrypto Self-important, over-dramatic, uninspired.
CommentsXp Best movie ever!
Seraherrera The movie is wonderful and true, an act of love in all its contradictions and complexity
Griff Lees Very good movie overall, highly recommended. Most of the negative reviews don't have any merit and are all pollitically based. Give this movie a chance at least, and it might give you a different perspective.
catvill This movie was based off of a Wattpad novel and let me tell you it's a typical Wattpad story or actually really any type of fan fiction/ love story written by a teen This movie is very predictable from it's bland story line all the way to the bad comedy. I probably laughed once in the entire movie. For me personally this movie reminded me so much of a Wattpad story but just in Tagalog. It could've been executed better and even than I'd still probably just give it a 5/10. The movie just got very disjointed, and the character development was off. Too many things were too unrealistic for me. This movie isn't memorable but if you're looking to watch anything "ok" this would be it.
ClosetedDramaQueen I knew that the story was based on a Wattpad novel. I didn't know what I was expecting.1) Romeo and Juliet-like story - Check 2)Overloaded with clichés - Check 3)Far fetched scenarios - CheckIt's one of those films where if you think about it too much, you'll get nowhere. You just have to watch and take it as it is. So let's call a spade a spade and make this simple:Was it FUNNY? Surprisingly yes. Some (most) of the jokes may have fallen flat, but some scenes and certain accents were just so forced that they were unintentionally hilarious. I have no idea how the actors go through their lines without guffawing. Was it ROMANTIC? It could be, but I don't think there was enough development to make the characters' romance believable. If you are a fan of their love team or the book, you may giggle and blush, but me? Not so much. Was it GOOD? Depends on what you mean by 'good'. I, for one, think it's good enough if you want to pass the time. I do not think it's good enough for a cinema ticket. Was it MEMORABLE? Not really. I think something "major" happens in each scene that the story becomes...scattered and disconnected at times. Nothing stands out. Or makes sense.I appreciate the acting skills of Nadine Lustre, but her similarities to Kathryn Bernardo makes it hard to appreciate her as an actress. James Reid played his role well enough, but the dude needs to keep his shirt on. Andre Paras did okay for a newbie, although I can't help but be embarrassed by his fight scene. The British girl was hilarious! Fluent in Tagalog but has a British accent when speaking in English (the accent disappears when she cries though). I just wanted to weep for Gabby Concepcion. Like, dude...what are you doing in a film like this?I still think the lead was too pretty and even her 'kabaduyan' seems stylish. It's also quite disturbing that she befriends so many rich people. At one point it just seems like she's mooching off them. That, and the fact that her friends' wealth were exaggerated as hell. P1,000 for a taxi fare and P250,000 for a girlfriend ring? I don't think so. Oh and yeah, when she didn't recognize who the guy was in the ball, I was like: this girl is stttuuuupppiiiddd. In my honest opinion, it's funnier than Praybeyt Benjamin - without meaning to - and so it must not be taken seriously. I would hate it if majority of the population thought that the Filipino youth really act like this. I applaud film adaptations of Filipino books though, and I hope later efforts would be better than this.
