It is an exhilarating, distressing, funny and profound film, with one of the more memorable film scores in years,

Great story, amazing characters, superb action, enthralling cinematography. Yes, this is something I am glad I spent money on.

only the zippy dinosaur is vaguely amusing and interesting (watch him play tennis!), but the rest is disgusting. Marion, who is as ugly as a dinosaur egg, is really unrealistic as the object of affection of 2 guys. she is also really old, and boring in character. the hot brother is just cute, but his reaction is more realistic. my dad just died, and now there's dinosaurs all around? give me a break. Wentworth miller is ugly as always, but he's really a jerk while training to fly. he thinks he's special, and wants to SAVE THE WORLD!!! boring, even Jurassic park is better than this dinosaur waste. so do not watch this uninspiring wannabe fantasy rip off of narnia.

Having just just viewed this unique mini-series on DVD from the local library I've found myself wrapped up in the fantasy world that is created in Dinotopia. The acting starts out just a bit lackluster but it picks up quickly and the characters gain personality. The female lead in my opinion is the poorer of the actors but not terrible. The special effects are excellent and I actually was surprised at the formidable quality of this whole production. I rented it just thinking oh I like sci-fi, fantasy, and dinosaurs OK so this will be easy escapism for a bit, but actually it enthralls you with the story of the lives of the people and dinosaurs of Dinotopia. The allure of wanting to experience more of the Dinotopia world drew me to internet investigation where I came to offer these comments and learned of the origin of the story in the Gurney book series and other authors. Thus, my perspective and comments come from first introduction being the movie bringing me to interest in the books. In that regard the movie is really effective....it makes you want to know more about and experience more of the adventures of Dinotopia. It's also a great family theme movie and has great themes and morals too.

I only rented Dinotopia because I saw it at my local video store and noticed that Wentworth Miller was on the cover. Of course it looked stupid just from the box cover, but I'm a huge fan of Wentworth so I rented it.There are no words for how lame this movie is. The acting is horrible (yes, surprisingly even Wentworth Miller seemed awkward and spit his lines out WAY too fast). There is a storyline but the poor effects, bad acting, and ridiculous dialog take away any chance this film had of being watchable. Maybe the actors felt so stupid interacting with cheap looking animatronic dinosaurs that they just didn't even try to give any heart to their performance.Seriously, your plane crashes at sea nearly drowning you and killing your father and you don't seem in the least bothered by this? And then, you find yourself on an island where dinosaurs still exist and you only seem mildly surprised? Maybe a kid would enjoy this, but anyone over seven will just laugh.

There is a place where people can make movies and TV series by doing market research, finding out what people like, and then putting all together. This place is call Plotatopia....not far from Hollywood If you have dinosaurs, kids will love it. This is Dinatopia...a Harry Potteresque world where reality is turned not so much on it's head, but is leaning over dangerously.Dinatopia is an island where dinosaurs and humans lived together in some sort of harmony. It is a charming world, but each episode lacks a plot and a coherent reality....why is it that some Dinasours talk and smart, and others eat humans.....everyone lives in harmony, but you have people ordering each other around....and weapons are forbidden and fighting the carnivores is not allowed, but when they attack these attacks start happening....Oh well, it is for children.
