This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.

Dire Straits live at the Hammersmith Odeon, London. Recorded over two nights, 22-23 July 1983, while on the tour for the album Love Over Gold. Song listing: Once Upon a Time in the West; Expresso Love; Romeo and Juliet; Private Investigations; Sultans of Swing; Two Young Lovers; Tunnel of Love; Telegraph Road; Solid Rock; Going Home - Theme from Local Hero.Superb. Excellent music, expertly performed and perfectly captured. There's an artistry to the whole event, from the minutiae of the performances, to the arrangement of the songs, to the song running order. Even the closing track is perfectly chosen!

I went and watched the premier release of this live concert at the cinema on the 6th of May 2010. This was to coincide with the first release on DVD and Blueray. And can I say what an event, apart from the clothing dating the experience, the music was excellent. The remastering of the soundtrack was excellent. I went with my younger brother, and we both commented after it was actually like being in the front row. The 5.1 sound really bought out the feeling of being there, were the voices and cheering on the soundtrack or people behind me in the cinema? One downfall was the lack of advertising for the event, and the lack of crowd. But hey this is a review of the film, and can I again reiterate, it was excellent. I grew up on the cassette, the video and then the CD. Now I have enjoyed it in another form of media, I loved it. The mixing was great, the song choice was great, the seating was great. Good on you Hoyts and whoever else was involved. Again the film was great, and I can't wait to get the DVD.
