Aaron1375 This Dragonball Z movie actually has a very decent runtime of an hour and nine minutes. That may not seem like a long movie, but compared to other Z movies it is a nice bit of time indeed. Why does the simple increase of length help the movie? Well for one thing they had time to set up the movie while still having a decent fight at the end that is just not another 2 minute fight where someone powers up and decimates their opponent like in the first film with Cooler. This one has a strange mysterious alien getting Vegeta to his planet. He is a Saiyan and he wishes that his prince return to the new Vegeta planet. Well he is not really interested until told of the legendary Super Saiyan warrior creating havoc. The thought of challenging this warrior leads Vegeta onto the ship to the new planet with quite a few Z warriors in tow. A bit more buildup to follow, when I first saw this one I was very worried that there would not be enough time for a decent fight, but thankfully the longer running time meant there could be one giant fight between the Z fighters and Brolly who was the legendary one. Still, while it is good it has its faults as well. For some reason Vegeta is completely out of character here. He shows fear of this warrior and freezes up at the sight of him basically conceding they had no chance against him. This is not something Vegeta has ever done in the regular series. This is the same warrior who usually goes after the much stronger foes still thinking he is going to win. I also did not like the way this Super Saiyan is taken out, but that has more to do with how he is presented later (he would appear in one other film and sort of another one). Overall, though this one is very nice has a great fight and great humor as I loved the scene where Master Roshii challenges Brolly.

gigan-92 This is the longest DBZ film at just over 70 minutes, but is it also the best?? I'm sure any fan of the series who's watched this movie has asked themselves this question. It is indeed possible. Funimation has, just like all the other (45-51 minute films) films, re-released it beautifully remastered and seen the way it was meant to be. Also it is unedited so you'll see all the details of the Legendary Super Saiyan's background. Perhaps that is why it is pretty damn close to being the best if not so. The story goes pretty deep into the history of these villains, deeper into the barbarity and violent nature of the saiyans themselves. The screenplay makes you wait for the final confrontation but when the action does start it never lets up. Fueling the intense fight is incredibly bad-ass music by Pantera, Doosu, Haji and several other bands. Not to mention an impressive new opening theme by Tendril.Broly himself, voiced by Vic Mignogna, is a menacing new villain and his transformation scene is fantastically dark. His power is beyond comprehension, most likely far above the level of Perfect Cell, seeing as how he makes light of the entire Z-team not just one-on-one but all at the same time as well. Does he know any limits?? He demonstrates a very different style of fighting that I enjoyed. Also starring is Paragus (Dameon Clarke), Broly's estranged father. By the time the film concludes a diabolical plot is unraveled and a contest of strength turns into a test of who will survive the longest.

madd_aka_ringo The narrative of this film is as follows:Good guys mess around a bit, then go to another planet to fight something.It becomes apparent that they are going to fight Broly within 5 seconds of him being on-screen.Broly looks stern.Good guys mess around a bit. Broly looks a bit angry.Good guys mess around a bit, give Broly a weak excuse to use his unsurprisingly mighty powers.Broly destroys EVERYONE.Goku wins.The film is utterly pathetic and only marginally redeemed by some stylish action, which is never varied or interesting enough to make up for an incredibly tedious build-up that lasts a good two thirds of the film. It's a shame, because had attention been devoted at any stage to actually having characters or making the (actually quite promising) story more engaging it could have been pretty entertaining - the fighting is well executed after all, even if it's entirely one sided. Sadly the whole thing is so painfully slow and laughably obvious that it's really not worth it.

The1Wishmaster1 This DBZ movie is the best one out of all, and this movie could be used as the soul to a live action movie!! This movie had the best music and action. Other English DBZ movies are good but are better left Japanese, for example; The History of Trunks. FUNimation outdid themselves this time, as this movie is so enjoyable thats its only drawback is that it ended. I could see this as a Live Action movie to see if more would work. Broly himself is an amazing character, as he does a good job pretending to be good then losing it when Kakarot aka Goku shows up. When he and Goku meet face to face, the movie really takes off. This movie is worth everyones time and makes a great source for entertainment.
