SpunkySelfTwitter It’s an especially fun movie from a director and cast who are clearly having a good time allowing themselves to let loose.
AnhartLinkin This story has more twists and turns than a second-rate soap opera.
Stephanie There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes
Gordon-11 This film is about a man who pretends to be gay and has a date with a gay guy, in order to get the girl he wants."Eating Out" is a low budget comedy, but it has all the right ingredients to be an entertaining film. I like the story as it is a refreshing change from all the standard romantic comedy. It has adult themes and at times stretches on for a bit too long, but these scenes do not feel out of place. There is a lot of positivity and social support for the main characters too, which is uplifting and empowering."Eating Out" is fun, lighthearted and makes people happy. That's all that matters for a comedy.
aj_cousins I happen to think this film was actually quite funny, but more importantly, incredibly hot ;) !! I'm sick of hearing 'this movie doesn't portray a good image of gay ppl to the straight world' and 'these characters are just stereotypes and not all gay people are like this'.... well guess what! I really don't care when I'm watching a movie! Not all gay movies should be about trying to make the naive understand the gay world, I believe the main reason movies are made in the first place is for entertainment. This movie was funny, it was hot, OK so it was a bit of a B grade movie, but all in all I loved every minute of the low budget masterpiece and would watch it again (especially the end after the credits hahahah that scene was hot!)! So if your the kind of person who's able to forget about social politics and trying to prove to the world that gay people are normal to and blah blah blah, and just wanna sit back and watch a flick thats both funny and incredibly hot, well, Eating Out is your Friday night in with a bowl of popcorn and a spunkalicious man!
drflox99204 As I have spent time catching up on gay films lately --- I found "Eating Out" to be a fresh nice piece of fun gay film- gentle and easy. Fun to watch. I found it thoughtful and insightful to the realities that gay men face and approachable enough my straight friends enjoyed it - . Eating Out represents a sweet nice refreshing drink of water filmed in the hot Tucson sun. The writers use of contemporary gay slang, and situations makes you wonder what will be around the next corner. The characters represent folks you know in your every day life and the situations a cross between reality and Queer As Folk - are believable and yet funny-the cast is well mated and plays well off each other and is damned cute too!- when I compare it to other 2004/2005 releases I have found it more enjoyable than certain mainstream gay releases and certainly way less depressing.
tjayfarley Contrary to the other posting this is actually a great flick with some great music by Jim Verraros (and no I can't stand American Idol!). It was witty and succinct. It's that type of movie which is supposed to make us giggle, smirk and smile as Gay men as the reality of many of the witticisms and the underlying truths that it presents. If you are looking for dissertation on the way gay men think or a self help analysis, well, this isn't the movie for you. It's intended to get you to relax, enjoy and smile at the absurdity of what goes along with being who you are; GAY!
