TeenzTen An action-packed slog
PiraBit if their story seems completely bonkers, almost like a feverish work of fiction, you ain't heard nothing yet.
Myron Clemons A film of deceptively outspoken contemporary relevance, this is cinema at its most alert, alarming and alive.
Mandeep Tyson The acting in this movie is really good.
jay_amer I saw this movie many many years ago and loved it. I was very young when I first watched it and then i could not find the movie again and recently i had finally found this movie again. This movie is still just as amazing when I first saw it! Wolfgang Petersen's all time classic! A Movie that will never be forgotten! My favourite sci-fi classic from the 80's.
marcosluisalmeida I started watching this movie thinking it was just a low-budget sci- fi movie, with mediocre special effects and a standard plot. The space dogfight wasn't particularly engaging, and even when the characters got stranded in the planet it seemed too much of a B movie. But as the movie progressed, and I got to spend time with the characters and see their development from enemies to friends, I just felt such an emotional connection to them that it made the movie for me. The scene where Jeriba dies is one of the most emotionally- powerful deaths I've seen on screen! Overall, the movie is really an heart-warming experience with a very good message about peace and friendship. It's truth that the third act does fall into some clunky territory, but it didn't ruin the movie for me. For what it had, the movie was really great, compensating the lack of budget with a great script, great performances and great direction. If you're looking for a sci-fi movie with a great message and a heart-warming story, and you don't mind for the special effects, this is the one for you!
g-bodyl Enemy Mine is one of those many cheesy sci-fi films from the 1980's, but it still is a fun film to watch. The special effects do not hold up that well compared to today but the alien makeup is actually really good. One thing that annoyed me the most is the annoying trilling of the alien. I just wish he would speak normally without that trilling. This film is about two mortal enemies who are at war with each other but they both crash-land on a planet and there they must realize in order to survive, they must rely on each other and become friends. The two main leads by Dennis Quaid and Louis Gosset Jr hold their own in this movie. I really like Quaid's character since be brought substance into his character.Overall, this is a good sci-fi film with a good message hidden deep within. This follows Close Encounters as one of those good films with good meanings on alien communication. I rate this film 8/10.
gwnightscream Dennis Quaid and Louis Gossett Jr. star in Wolgang Petersen's 1985 sci-fi film. This takes place in the future where a battle between humans and toad-like aliens, Dracs occurs in space. Fighter pilot, Willis Davidge (Quaid) crashes and gets stranded on a strange planet with one of the Dracs, Jeriba (Gossett). At first, they despise each other, but as time goes on, they become friends while trying to survive. Davidge and Jerry also teach each other their languages and Davige calls Jeriba, Jerry. Soon, Jerry gives birth to a baby, Zammis and Davidge looks after him as his Uncle. I've always liked this film, Dennis and Louis are great together, The alien make-up effects are great as well as the score. I recommend this good, underrated sci-fi flick.
