Helllins It is both painfully honest and laugh-out-loud funny at the same time.
Aneesa Wardle The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
adonis98-743-186503 A horror-thriller centered on a woman living with "face-blindness" after surviving a serial killer's attack. As she lives with her condition, one in which facial features change each time she loses sight of them, the killer closes in. Faces in the Crowd benefits from 2 strong performances by Milla Jovovich and Julian McMahon who have a great chemistry together and totally "live" their characters to the fullest. The film has a nice original idea about a woman who gets tracked by a serial killer that she can identify because of her illness and despite some "rocky" moments like the fall from the bridge and some bad cgi faces here and there this is a horror film that keeps you entertained of course not everyone is going to enjoy it but it's story is quite fresh, the 2 leading actors do a great job and some of the twists are good even tho quite "old" even with it's flaws Faces in the Crowd is a much better horror-thriller than your average straight to DVD film. (9/10)
samisspink Would given this a 9, had it not been for the rubbish ending where (WARNING: SPOILERS) Julian's character died. What's the point? No one likes a rubbish ending to a movie!! Although it ends happy, still would have been a 10/10 movie had he lived. Still, I was glued throughout. Also, would have liked to see more of Michael Shanks in this movie, he's quite easy on the eye too ;)Terrific acting anyway, keeps you guessing and brings a very unheard of cognitive issue to life. Scary in itself, let alone if there's anyone after you.Worth a watch, especially if you're a fan of any Mila or Julian! Enjoyed the watch, despite the disappointing ending.
FlashCallahan Milla Jovovich plays a woman whom, after an encounter with a serial killer, injures herself and causes a condition where she cannot control her facial recognition. So only Julian McMahons beard, and ties being worn can help her. When a prolific actor or actress stars in a straight to DVD movie, you know that there must be problems, even ultraviolet had a cinema release. And there are huge problems with this movie, despite the concept being sound. The main problem is, they play this like a horror movie, whereas it could have worked much better as a thriller, an intelligent thriller, rather than having her guess who is who.The cast are okay, but look so out of place, and for the most part, McMahon looks really embarrassed to be this, and on occasion, Jovovich looks and acts like a cyborg. Its aiming for the whodunit crowd, but this would have been made in 1992 with Michael Douglas and Madeleine Stowe. But when you think about if, it was made in the nineties.Has anyone seen Blink, or Jennifer 8?Pointless.
kosmasp If I'd be rating the concept/idea of the movie, I would be praising it as much as I could. I was fascinated by it and what possibilities there are lying within it. Unfortunately though the movie does very little with it. And that is being modest. Also calling this predictable would be a major understatement. It will be hard to find anyone else than Millas character who doesn't know who the culprit is, almost right away. While another reviewer pointed out similarities between this and Julias Eyes, I'd suggest if you only want to watch one movie, make it Julias Eyes. Coherent and much better than this. Though I like Milla, this isn't her best work either. But with a script like that, ruining a good concept, what else do you expect. So I am being nice giving this 4 points
