Synopsis

Fat Pizza the Film is yet another slice of life at a dodgy suburban Sydney take away. Bobo Gigliotti the psychotic pizzeria owner/pizza chef is awaiting the arrival of his mail-order refugee bride Lin Chow Bang, and a new pizza deliverer is on the block. Channel V's Jabba almost steals the show as token skip delivery boy Davo Dinkum, a stoner with a bong strapped to his face like a feedbag.

Stevecorp Don't listen to the negative reviews
HomeyTao For having a relatively low budget, the film's style and overall art direction are immensely impressive.
vatlva After initially deciding to switch off after thirty seconds, then being unable to find the remote, I instead looked at reviews of this film to see what the Hell was going on - the first line of the first review was something along the lines of 'typically Australian!' - then I instantly went into Australian film mode and managed to sit through the entire film.I am unfamiliar with most of these actors, I've never heard of the TV series or this film, and had no idea what to expect but I found my brain reminding me that I have also seen and enjoyed Bad Taste, Body Melt etc - and enjoyed them - that's when I clicked what typically-Australian actually means. Basically, they do not give one single solitary sh*t what people think of them as there are never any consequences for the Aussies after being politically incorrect, overly-vulgar, exploitative or rude and that is why I enjoyed the film so much. Real breath of fresh air.I have read that this is a low budget production - I don't know whether that is true especially given this movie has a cast of hundreds of people, lots of motorcycles and muscle cars getting smashed up, lots of different filming locations etc but I really wish someone responsible for the terrible conveyor belt of British low budget 'comedies' and 'thrillers' would look at this to get a better idea of how to do an entertaining film without needing world famous actors, amazing special effects or a real story, as I've been bearing witness lately to the destruction of the lower end of the UK film industry by people who don't seem to have the foggiest idea what they are doing. So, what did I learn about the Sydney suburbs as a newcomer to this franchise? Well, there are hardly any white caucasian people and those that exist are inbred drug dealing lowlifes and bikies - the rest of the population consists of Arabs, Asians and African Caribbeans, all of who are criminals. Most of the women have smoking hot bodies but faces like smacked-arses and the police are all completely incapable of policing. And there are more than a few dwarfs.Sounds like my sort of town....
Chief_Watches-Many I have visited OZ twice, and was shown the TV series by Aussie friends. As a real sitcom buff, and a taste for anarchy on screen, I took to the show immediately, no that's an understatement, I bloody loved it!On my return to OZ I looked out for it again, and SBS began to show it and it was as good as I remembered.I discovered the film, and was very excited to sit and watch it. Unfortunately it just didn't live up to my expectations, and I didn't find it particularly funny. I enjoyed the characters as I always would, but I would have bought a copy to bring home even if I had thought it to be just OK, but the fact that it wasn't worth it says a lot. I am desperate to obtain copies of the series on DVD, but as far as I know they hadn't/haven't made them. This is a great shame as I would love to introduce friends here to the show.TV Show 10/10 Film 5/10
nakar1 Fat pizza is a great movie, at the beginning the movie looks to me funny and stupid but after a while and a second look.... It's still looks stupid but very smart because it criticize everything and everybody. I guess I miss some thing that Australian will found funny, but still a very fun smart and non PC as a movie as should be. They want me to write at lease ten line so I'm trying to do so and I hope that I will succeed with that mission. For now it's not so easy because my comment was two short because it's not easy to me to express my self in English, and to express my thoughts about this movie. Wish me lock..............hope this comment will not deleted.
towelie2002 Fat Pizza is a fantastic film, which is both my 2nd favourite Australian film and my 4th favourite comedy of all time! This is so politically incorrect that it's the key to its success. This film takes the p*ss out of everyone and leaves no exceptions, like wogs, Aussies, Asians, illegal immigrants, disabled people, street gangs, police, the government, druggies, religion, celebrities, terrorism, rappers, homosexuals, transvestites and anyone else I didn't mention. In this film, Paulie (Paul Fenech, who also co-wrote, produced and directed this masterpiece) has a lot on his plate. He has to organize Bobo's (Johnny Boxer), his boss, wedding with his mail-order bride Ling Chow (I can't find her real name), keep his mates, rapper Sleek The Elite (Paul Naked), Habib (Tahir Bilgic, who also co-wrote this), Aussie druggie Davo Dinkum (Jabba from Channel [V]) and Rocky `The Lebanese Rambo' (couldn't find his name either) out of trouble and stay away from killer clowns from a rival fast food chain (obviously spoofing McDonalds). There is also a rival pizza shop run by from Indian people called `Phat Pizza', which they know ripped them off and spy on them. The film is beyond worthy to the TV series, which is the best out of the film spin-offs of TV series such as South Park, Beavis & Butthead and Ali G. The addition of the new character Davo is great and is probably now the funniest character in the series, which is also nice to the see a `token Aussie' in it. The performances are great and most are so over-the-top that it's genius. It's so funny that you pretty laugh every minute of the film and the soundtrack is awesome and perfectly fits to the theme of the film. It's a crime that the TV series Pizza was banned from SBS! Let's hope this wonderful team of comedians keep making both the series and possible sequels to this wonderful film.Rating: 5/5!!!
