Huievest Instead, you get a movie that's enjoyable enough, but leaves you feeling like it could have been much, much more.
Ogosmith Each character in this movie — down to the smallest one — is an individual rather than a type, prone to spontaneous changes of mood and sometimes amusing outbursts of pettiness or ill humor.
Neive Bellamy Excellent and certainly provocative... If nothing else, the film is a real conversation starter.
ehahn24967 My daughter (6) made me to see this movie, because she likes Felix and has a lot of Felix-gadgets (school bag, books, games, ...) and it was really - awful. The plot (is there any?) is build on Felix meeting the Yeti, Nessie, Vampires and finding Atlantis, all this while being haunted by a green wizard (for no obvious reason). Come on, I know, this is a kids movie, but don't our kids have the right to see more intelligent animation films? I've been to Laura's Stern with her, too, and I found it a touching movie. I've seen Toy Story just the day before and it was a very good movie - but this one was just disappointing. I found the Felix books and games most suitable for kids of a certain age but the movie has just no fitting target age - so if you're 7 years plus just stay away...
Toadward Felix seems to be a huge success over here in Germany. For years there have been dolls and books about this little rabbit in the stores and there appears to be a huge fan-base among small children. I didn't really know much about Felix when I took my girlfriend's seven year old niece to see it, but after a couple of minutes I was actually appalled, that someone would charge money for such a mess of a movie. The concept sounds interesting and educational in theory. Felix travels the world, tries to find his way home and writes postcards to his owner, a little girl. While I didn't really expect much, I thought that kids might learn a few things about other cultures and countries from this movie. But the film was incredibly shallow, dull and silly. All Felix finds in the mountains is the Yeti, all he finds in Scotland is the Loch Ness monster and all he finds in Eastern Europe are vampires. Except for being non-educational, which can be a good thing in fantasy-movies, there are a lot of other reasons for not liking this film. The story as absolutely irrational. Characters appear with no proper introduction or explanation of their motivation. There seems to be a villain with unexplained superpowers, who hunts Felix without any reason only to change his mind a couple of times to save the main character. The dialogue is bad, the animation is even worse. An episode of Pokemon looks like a Disney-movie compared to this. The kid I saw the movie with enjoyed it, but I had no interest in discussing the reasons for that. I could ramble on for a dozen pages, but writing this seems to have the same effect on me as the actual movie: I feel tired.
