It's fun, it's light, [but] it has a hard time when its tries to get heavy.

This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.

Fun, silly movie with two leads that have great buddy chemistry throughout. Yea its a high school movie about football players and cheerleaders, but as soon as you get over yourself and your ego for daring to watch such a thing, that's when you can really enjoy the comedic timing of Eric O. and Nic D. that punches through the whole thing. Even the supporting cast (that features a LOT of familiar faces) has me cracking up every time. Its not a movie meant to change your life, it doesn't re-invent the wheel and its not meant to be deep. And it's nothing like "Bring it On"...its supposed to be a silly comedy (that actually makes you laugh) with high school fantasy rolled in. Did I mention its damn funny? Of course it had no chance of winning any movie critic awards, but it's worth a watch. Definitely an old favorite movie of mine that I still throw on every once in a while. Enjoy!

Released to video in 2009, "Fired Up" is a teen dramedy about two popular high school football jocks (Eric Christian Olsen and Nicholas D'Agosto) who decide to go to cheerleading camp in the summer instead of football camp in order to score loads of babes. Their plans go awry when one falls in love with the captain of the cheerleading squad of their school (Sarah Roemer) and they both find themselves sincerely wanting to help the squad win the camp competition. The purpose of a movie like this is to entertain and elicit laughs; the great ones avoid too much raunchiness, etc. and offer strong subtexts (like 1995's "Clueless" and 1982's "Fast Times at Ridgemont High"). The good news is that "Fired Up" is surprisingly funny from beginning to end and it does have heartwarming elements. Despite being direct-to-video, it's obvious that a lot of thought and effort was put into the film. For it to work Olsen and D'Agosto have to work well together and they do. By the way, Olsen was 31 during filming and D'Agosto was 28, hardly high school age, and – while they do a good job of appearing high school age – their overall demeanor give 'em away. As for the females, Sarah is striking as Carly and there are quite a few curvaceous beauties, including the brunette cheerleading coach.I would easily give "Fired Up" a grade of 'A-' if not for some unnecessary coarseness, implied raunch (in other words, there aren't any overtly raunchy scenes) and way too many gay-oriented jokes. These aspects remove it from the realm of greatness, as far as I'm concerned. The movie runs 90 minutes and was shot in the Los Angeles area.GRADE: B

Now, I know that a lot of people thought this movie wasn't that great, or even thought it was terrible, and that's their opinion. But I really love this movie. In fact, I just bought it on Bluray, to add to my collection. In this movie, Nick and Shawn are the biggest ladies man at their high school. And instead of going to football camp like they usually do, they decide to join the cheerleading squad and go their camp instead. All in the hopes of getting laid. After chasing so much tail at the camp, they decide to dessert their team and go finish the Summer at football camp. Unfortunly, they didn't realize that they would fall for people at the camp. Nick fell for his cheerleading coach, who is married, and owns the camp. And Shawn fell for the captain of their cheerleading squad. They eventually come back and try and help them win the big tournament, that they have at the end of Summer. They didn't win, but they all ended up with happy endings. My favorite part of the movie is probably when they're at the camp, and everyone is watching Bring It On. It's so funny that they reference another cheerleading movie, within this cheerleading movie.Overall, I give this movie an 8 out of 10.

This movie uses every possible cliché EVER. It's so predictable every detail. But thats the least problem with it. Whole story is based on telling lies and deceiving people but when someone else is doing the same thing - the main characters are turning into moral standards. It's sick... Using double standards then "You" do it and when "He" or "She" does it. In so moments the movie is so dumb I just couldn't watch it... cliché after cliché and another one follows it.Also the vision of free sex, not even mention fornication, is just beyond any reason. Kids watch it and they wanna be like those characters but the reality is too often bringing them down to the ground. This is the deceptive view shown to the world how life in America is. And it's totally false. There is no high school in America with only cute girls and handsome boys. It's sickens me to see this over and over in those movies. Spear your brain cells and don't watch it.
