This film seems to be unfairly regarded as the poor relation, just because it was made for TV. If so, it's snobbery. Flight 93 focuses much more on the humanity of the event, on the passengers and their families. This gives us the chance to empathize with them and feel for them as they meet their fate.United 93 focuses more on the technical aspects. It fails to distinguish the passengers from each other and does not name them. I know this was done at the request of the families, so as not to single anyone out (not that this stopped the film makers from unjustly stigmatizing the German passenger as a wimp!).I admit that Flight 93 perhaps goes too far in its depiction of endless phone calls. We wondered when the passengers were ever going to find time to take on the hijackers!

The entire time I was watching I kept wondering why this movie looked so different than the one I saw on DVD-United 93. Well, it wasn't the brilliant movie but a terrible remake from A&E who should have just let things be. This is why a good director is a good director...it's not until you see a mediocre effort and talent try to play with the big boys. This TV movie is a sham of the movie United 93. It contains non of the drama, storytelling and detail of the movie. Why make a move that links itself to such a pivotal piece of American history when you can't improve on the Hollywood version of United 93? Why?Do yourself a favor--rent or Netflix United 93. One of the best movie made that covers a historical event. That movie took risks and they paid off. The DVD also has amazing extras with interviews from the actual families. The whole project was class all the way.

I am currently watching this film as we speak. It has a very trivial plot line. The whole film involves 4 terrorists, who look like fashion models sitting in the cockpit of the plane with Ninja Turtle like scarfs on their foreheads. The whole film is nothing but the victims calling their families over and over. Nothing more. It is very poorly constructed and directed. I am going to view the film version and then formulate an opinion. I just didn't enjoy this film very much. The filming quality even is mediocre because it looks like it was shot in the 1980s. It confused my husband and myself into believing that this was the actual film version. It is not. I did not like how they made it seem like they were using cell phones in mid-air. Everyone knows that this is not at all possible.

i rented flight 93 without knowing it is a (tv) film, i was thinking it is actually 'united 93' i am about to watch, the very promising and talked about film that earned a spot on IMDb's top 250 list.i got home and put the DVD on play and what i saw was a very touching and realistic films that tells us a little about the flight passengers and how they dealt with the situation,we see them having the last conversations with their relatives and also the relatives reaction to what happens and the tension they go through all this time when the only thing they can do is hope.for me it was very moving! the first time i found out there are two different films about United 93 and i watched the one that is less good is when entering this site, i was surprised cause i really felt 'Flight 93' was very good.i didn't watch 'United 93' yet but I'm intending to soon.it is understandable that most people wont like to watch two movies that talk about the exact same thing, no matter what that thing is and for this i feel bad for 'Flight 93' because there was a great effort making it, an effort that is worth remarking.
