Synopsis

Producer Samuel Cummins, along with five participants in World War I, discuss the key events of the war as illustrated by an assemblage of battlefield and other documentary footage. This film is not the same as, but seems likely to have either inspired or been inspired by, Norman Lee's British production of the same title (q.v.), apparently released the following year.

ScoobyMint Disappointment for a huge fan!
Lidia Draper Great example of an old-fashioned, pure-at-heart escapist event movie that doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not and has boat loads of fun being its own ludicrous self.
malcolmgsw Now that the First World War is out of living memory this film has become a historical document. It features a description of the war particularly as it affected and involved the British Army.It incorporates a lot of contemporary film.It is introduced by a general from a Scottish regiment. Most importantly it features soldiers who fought in the War many of them amputees but all very much affected by their experiences.it is difficult to realise that when this film was made the war had only been over for 15years and many of the men were still in their thirties and early forties. One wonders if there is any significance in the fact that this film was made in 1933 when Hitler came to power in Germany.Anyone with an interest in the First World War should see this film.
