Lollivan It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.
Tyreece Hulme One of the best movies of the year! Incredible from the beginning to the end.
Kien Navarro Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.
jdk789 This film is based on a real person in Korean history whom some may regard to be sort of a patriot. As the title may imply he was son of a famous Korean general (who name i can't pronounce) who recruited militia to fight against the Japanese. This guy was a market protection gangster who was said to have even killed men with single kicks! The pacing of the movie is as lush and operatic as the Godfather and the story immensely enjoyable to follow. Those of you who are interested in yakuza movies and Hong Kong gangster movies try this out for size. One of the best things about this movie is the intense fight scenes; don't expect flying kung fu kicks but they are surprisingly well choreographed and very cool at that. You might like to know that this film was made just before Korean movies started getting their slick, stylish, Hollywood-killer treatment they're getting now. Want to see what Korean films were like before then whilst still managing to pull off some gems? Check it out on KoreanDVDS.com and enjoy.
