SpunkySelfTwitter It’s an especially fun movie from a director and cast who are clearly having a good time allowing themselves to let loose.
PiraBit if their story seems completely bonkers, almost like a feverish work of fiction, you ain't heard nothing yet.
Yash Wade Close shines in drama with strong language, adult themes.
Brennan Camacho Mostly, the movie is committed to the value of a good time.
supermaggie I think John Lynch (and Martin Compston etc.) is a (/are) great actor(s), and I always enjoy watching films with him, but this one is just bull... The movie is brutal and boring and no fun to watch up to the ridiculous coincidence at the end - but, hey, our "wise friend" Ahmed explains it: it is not a coincidence (no, it's the illogical fantasy of the author/) "it had to/somebody ((a sadistic god/cruel fate?)) wanted it to happen", oh sure, because it makes so much sense (massive spoiler alert) that Jack beats Paul to pulp, possibly crippling him for death and giving himself even more to regret - this is obviously much better than meeting on the terms of an organized meet as a victim-offender mediation as offered by victim organizations etc. and just talk - the movie's ending does indeed make much more sense (watch out, Ahmed: irony!), and if any male viewers are wishing to tell me now that it is necessary for men to sort out things with their fists: don't, because this makes it even worse and more depressing. The only wisdom Ahmed could have offered for such an ending is: God is a sadist, fate cruel and all of mankind are brutish beasts and beyond saving... I don't have to watch the movie a second time.
johnblight320 GHOSTED is one of the best films i've seen this year (2011.) It must be because i've just seen it for the second time in 3 days. It's a low budget, (British) gritty and very realistic depiction of life behind bars with some first class acting by John Lynch (giving probably the best performance of his career as a tragic victim of circumstances prisoner) and Craig Parkinson also excellent as his sleazy and quite chilling at times adversary. The direction is understated and perfect for the performances and the story. For me this rates as one of the best prison drama's for years and i'm already looking forward to watching it a third time. 7 out of 10.
lawriekelly Great acting by John Lynch and Craig Parkinson make up for the slight overtones of a low budget drama in this gritty but unrealistic look at prison life and how people's life's can become interwoven in the strangest of ways.On the downside Martin Compston adds a touch of tedium to the film with his slow acting method and the drawn out delivery of his lines. Art Malik's character Amhed the wise guru type delivering words of wisdom is somewhat cliché and can be seen in nearly every American movie of this genre. To me the film looks slightly dated but that does not detract from what was a good and interesting movie which kept me intrigued right till the very end.
