Now I usually hate dramedy because they often reflect the ineptitude of the people trying to write a comedy and ending up exploiting our over appreciating drama culture, but I really loved this movie. This is a black satire about a guy teaming up with a teen on a killing spree trying to rid society of the people they find appalling.
The first reason I liked it is because the monologues don't feel forced and are probably the best parts of the movie.
The second reason is that it's tone is not preachy and the movie has a few self referential moments where it is aware of how ridiculously deranged these characters are. The most surprising part for me was the third act, I clearly did not see it coming because the characters were not in any way near killing people on that big of a scale and it was really thirst quenching. I hated reality TV shows and the people on it since I was an early teen and seeing my fantasies come alive on the screen was deeply satisfying.

Fran a middle aged man is diagnosed with a brain tumor . Becoming increasingly frustrated at popular culture he decides to hit back at society Fed up with a world where heroes are defined as people with their own reality TV show and Twitter accounts are more important than real life ? Yeah me too. So not only should GBA be right up our street but should be knocking on our door as well. The disappointing thing is that I haven't seen a film recently with such a premise that it genuinely promises to talk to me then proceeds to blow everything in a short period of time !!!!! SPOILERS !!!! From the get go you can see the point director/screenwriter Bobcat Goldthwait is making . Just in case you don't the narrative spends much more time than it needs to spelling things out. The media insist on making stars out of nobodies . Yes we know . Yes I understand . Can you please change the record now , we get it . Yes please get on the story please. Please. There then follows a scene which is blackly comical and quite shocking in equal measure . I was in two minds about this . One is how are you going to follow this up for another 90 minutes ? The other thought I had was this is really a dream sequence. Guess what one turns out to be true ? At several points in the movie I constantly asked myself if the entire story is a dream sequence due to some staggering ill thought out plotting. Frank teams up with a 16 year old sociopath girl called Roxy after killing teenage reality star Chloe. They then kill Chloe's parents. However there is a significant time gap between the two incidents where the parents are unaware of their child's death which doesn't make any sense . Wouldn't the school immediately contact the parents ? Wouldn't the police turn up at the doorstep to break the news ? Yes they would but the screenplay is littered with such clumsy ill thought out writing such as Roxy going back to her parents claiming she was kidnapped while the story forgets that there are witnesses to her crimes . In reality both her and Frank would be fugitives if this all happened in real life. The film constantly does this ignoring common sense as to what has happened before This is a pity because as I stated earlier in the comment this is a film that wants to say something to its audience about shallow popular culture and is a really great premise. This is all ruined by dreadful writing which totally dilutes the scathing blackly comical elements. So much so one wonders if Goldthwait is worried the film would destroy his career in much the same way as NATURAL BORN KILLERS destroyed Oliver Stone's reputation. As it stands the GBA has backfired anyway

Well, I did not expect it to be this good, even after knowing it was praised by many. From the writer, director of 'World's Greatest Dad'. Another black comedy and this even better. About an ordinary middle aged divorcée who hates everything around him, but could not do anything about it. One day when he got fired from his job, followed by discovering he has a tumor, he thinks to put an end his life right away. But then decides to do cleanup the society before his time comes up. Hence begins the path of violence, later a young woman joins him and how long it all goes was briefed.Seems very familiar, but still worked so good. It's not your 'Bonnie and Clyde' or 'Pretty Poison'. In fact, you can drag as many titles as you can, but still it is quite simple and entertaining. Obviously predictable, including the main twist and several scenes, but the rhythm of the narration was great, keeps us hooked to it for the way it was filmed. It's not about the moral science. It is pretty much a confused or misunderstood situation based theme, especially the conclusion clears out that. So if you don't care anything about those things, particularly in a film, then it is for you.Unfamiliar faces, but they both in the lead were excellent. The same film with some popular stars would have made a better headline and collection. Not seen quite a nice B film like this in the recent time. I got what I wanted from a film. Especially for a small film like this its exemption in a few areas due to the tight budget, but this film did not have any trouble, just amazing. Yeah, a well made film, from writing to direction, performances, this is a decent hidden gem of its kind.7/10

This black, black comedy hits home right from the start and shows what a cruel and uncaring and callous world this has become, mainly through the mindless drivel shown on t.v. Joel Murray is very good in the main role as a dying man who just wants people to be nice and respectful to others. Film is similar in theme to " Falling Down" but is even better.Director Bobcat Goldthwait shows he is better behind the camera than he is in front of it. Manages some rather moving and touching moments among the pathos and it makes you think at times. Film loses it's way a little in the later stages but it does enough to make it a good film, not for all tastes though.
