I gave this film a 9 out of 10, because it was exactly what I expected it to be.

While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.

The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.
Yazmin
Close shines in drama with strong language, adult themes.

In a single word, its intolerable.I don't care if the movie promotes/opposes euthanasia, or even if its ambivalent towards the subject. Its really OK with me.So the film doesn't have any action, any comedy, any item numbers, any typical bollywood stuff.? OK great. No problem. Obviously I didn't expect any of that stuff in Guzarish. We do know that much. What I do need is a solid story. But alas, the film has nothing to offer in this department. We already knew from the trailers, what the movie was going to be about. What I was looking forward to was some brilliance, creativity in the narrative. The only creativity you find here is Aishwarya donning weird Gothic style make up that makes her look hideous, and ghostly, vampirish actually(May be they edited out the scene where she was secretly sucking off Hrithik's blood at the last minute), and the huge palatial mansion that Hrithik inhabits. Though its a villa, a grand mansion by architecture and design, it functions more like a lodging and boarding house, where random people come and go as per their requirements. This film is in reality a great insult to all the people suffering from disability. Mr. Bhansali, get real please. Living in a palace, and being attended to, by nurses who were former Ms Worlds, really?

Sanjay Leela Bhansali has always made different films be it Khamoshi, though HDDCS was a conventional film and his biggest success ditto for Devdas, then he made Black and Saawariya(the latter tanked). Guzaarish has elements of The Sea Inside a Spanish film however it's well handled. The film is very abstract yet moving, the way Hrithik's character is shown deserves marks The mercy killing aspect may be not too convincing but yet there are several brilliant scenes in the film.Direction by SLB is good Music by SLB too is fab, Be it Sau Gram and other songsHrithik Roshan does the unimaginable, putting on weight and also conveying through expressions, he is simply fabulous in the role and deserves awards Aishwarya Rai too is amazing in her role Aditya Roy Kapoor is decent,Shernaz Patel is as usual rest are okay.

I heard from a lot of people that this movie was not entertaining and boring, but I still went ahead and watched the movie and let me tell you this I DON'T REGRET IT. This is one of the movies that I'll never forget in my life. I mean the acting by Mr. Roshan is speechless. People who say that movies are suppose to be entertaining, well I think movies can also be used as a tool to teach people about what's going on around the world. This movie has really touched my heart. After watching this movie, my respect level for Mr. Roshan has increased. There were some moments which brought tears in my eyes and made me thank god for being able to move on my own and get the things done on my own. People who thought that Mr. Sanjay Leela Bhansali was done after making Saawariya, well this is the movie that shut many people's mouth. Movies can never be judged by the box office success, but the impact that they have on people. And this movie had a huge huge impact on me. I wish I could meet Mr. Roshan in person just so I could congratulate him for the performance in this movie. This movie is for really open minded people, and for those who want a movie that can teach them something or a movie that can touch their heart. I rate this movie 10 out 10. I wish I could give 100 out of 10.

Back in 1999, Sanjay Leela Bhansali released "Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam", a high profile movie which did impress. Three years later, he released a very high profile multi-starrer "Devdas", which was also very good, and continued with "Black" 3 years later which was also very impressive. Two years after that, he released "Saawariya" which was very disappointing, though he did give the industry another rising star in the form of Ranbir Kapoor. We've had to wait 3 years for this one. One thing's for sure: he has absolutely nailed this one. Brilliant!Hrithik Roshan plays the role of a quadriplegic effortlessly; everything from his facial expressions to his dialogue delivery is just superb. He reminds us how underrated he is as an actor. Aishwariya is superb in her respective role too. Aditya Roy Kapoor really caught my eye; he's someone to look out for in the future. Shernaz Patel and Suhel Seth are good in their supporting roles too.The cinematography is great; the screenplay is great and the direction is brilliant. Sanjay Leela Bhansali's talent shines through in every single frame of the movie. The music of the film is quite appropriate and has been nicely incorporated into the narrative. "Sau gram zindagi" is easily the best track.Verdict: a masterpiece from a brilliant director. Hrithik shines as does Aishwariya. A romantic and profound drama that shouldn't be missed! I give it 9.5/10
