Reviews

Libramedi Intense, gripping, stylish and poignant
ChampDavSlim The acting is good, and the firecracker script has some excellent ideas.
Freeman This film is so real. It treats its characters with so much care and sensitivity.
Edwin The storyline feels a little thin and moth-eaten in parts but this sequel is plenty of fun.
j_michelle-20510 Why so much hate? This is a cute, colourful and amusing children's movie, with some well-known voice actors, which takes a look at what would happen if the fairy tales didn't have their happy ending. The animation, voice actors and other aspects are no better or worse than other movies of the same era. It's not a fantastic movie (few are), but it's certainly not as horrible as these negative reviews suggest- there was even a sequel. I notice a lot of people comparing it to Shrek, yet can't see why? Aside from the fact both movies share a few characters taken from the years-old stories (as do many other movies before Shrek's time, yet Shrek isn't criticized for 'ripping off' those characters), there's really not a lot in common with the 2 movies. I was not reminded of Shrek watching Happily N'ever after. Worth a watch with your kids who are familiar with the classic fairy tales.
cathline55 to my surprise, many people give it a low mark. I like it very much. Why don't we accept a different story? Why Cinderalla must be a very beautiful girl with long hair? why prince must be a strong brave man? Why do we treat everything according to the standards we are taught? We actually have choices. I wonder why people don't like it, just because it tells a new story, without a brave handsome prince nor a beautiful hot Cinderalla. In most times, people have a negative attitude to new things, just like this movie. That's the reason why we need creativity. Years later, they will find that they are wrong.I adore the screenwriter a lot, because not every one has courage to write a sooooooooooo new story. To a movie, story is first, high-technology is the second, stars are the third. I don't know why Shrek is a hit. It's also an original movie. No handsome actor, only ugly Shrek, neither charming princess, only a fat ugly female-monster. But it got a good ticket box. The same story here only get a lower mark. Funny!
rajeshk-4 I saw this movie, and i liked it.. well it lives to my expectations. Story line is interesting and funny. IMHO its worth seeing at least once. Hope fully the DVD contains some other extra information like making-of Animation, story visualizations.. I liked the animation too, even though its not up to pixar quality , it lives up to my expectation, and its appealing. Certainly this movie goes in to my Home DVD collection. The story line is where it all starts getting interested. The scenes and plots were good, except some moments you feel the walk and climb feel little awkward and unnatural, but overall the animation quality and the Cinderella facial expressions are very well done, and it adds up to the personality. Certainly a good one to watch.
dbborroughs Villains gang up to assure that no one will live happily ever after (including the audience).Made in the wake of the surprise success of Hoodwinked, Happily N'ever After is a perfectly awful animated film that is easily one of the worst written in the last five years (which is saying a great deal since there have been some real stinkers). You can feel the committee crafting jokes that should be funny (come on really I tell you five year olds will eat this up) and the lack of enthusiasm for the job the actors have for the job thats giving them a fast paycheck (if you want emotion you'll have to pay me more). Nothing in this movie is funny or liable to put even a half a grin on your face. Its beyond awful. To be honest the only thing I've seen worse recently is Doogal-the American re-dubbed version of the wonderful Magic Roundabout.
