Good concept, poorly executed.

It's a mild crowd pleaser for people who are exhausted by blockbusters.

At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.

Very good movie overall, highly recommended. Most of the negative reviews don't have any merit and are all pollitically based. Give this movie a chance at least, and it might give you a different perspective.

Katie (Jemma Dallender) is a Midwestern farm girl who is in New York and desires to be a model. She does some free photography with some Russians and winds up abducted in Russia as a sex slave. If the title of the film has "spit" in it, we can rest assure it is a graphic rape/revenge film. If you have seen any of these "spit" films, you know the plot. The film gives us some quick character buildup as Katie constructs a mouse trap from household items and then moves to the violent scenes. She can easily go into and out off a berserker mode.I loved Jemma Dallender from "Community" and it appears she will be stuck in the horror genre for awhile, which is great for us horror film lovers. She has conquered the American accent with ease, but did we really need the "You Betcha" line?I liked this film more than the other films by this name, but be warned it is graphic in its rape and abuse.DVD includes some lame deleted scenes.Perv Guide: F-bomb, rape, nudity (Jemma Dallender + male frontal), urination, torture, sexual torture. 4 stars on the rape/revenge genre film scale.

Me personally I liked the movie. I do not think it was as good as the first movie, but it was miles better than the third movie. I was going to try and give an honest review without spoilers, but I just don't think I can. Most of the abuse in the movie was very believable, good acting all the way around. The problem I had was how she escaped death. It's just not believable at all. Unlike the first movie. Every part of that movie had me glued to the TV trying to figure out what was going to happen next. This one though, while it kept you entertained. I just feel the torture scenes were just bleh. It seemed to me that they wanted to try and out do the first movie in the torture department, but it fell short. It fell way short. It was just too..... I don't really know how to put it into words. It was torture to torture. Unlike the first movie where it was still torture, but the bad guys were technically torturing themselves. Or I guess a better way to explain is that they were torture traps. This movie though it was just her torturing them to death. I'm sorry, while I really enjoyed the movie. I just think if fell a little short. But it's a sequel. You kind of expect it.

I found this movie to be in total distaste...unless you are a feminist. This is man bashing/woman hero at it's worst. If you like to see women getting revenge on men. This movie is for you. Its violent and disgusting, and men die in the most gory, horrific ways. If you like blood, and violence against men. You will love this movie. If you value human life and "real" equality. This movie will exhaust and upset you. Feminists...go for it. Its just more porn for you, made by you. Anyone with a soul...watch something else. You will be glad you did. This is nothing more than just a man hating movie and there is no real plot anyway.

A sequel to a remake of a video nasty doesn't sound like it's going to be a classic, and the straight-to-DVD I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE 2 is about as good as you'd expect it to be, i.e. not very. It's an unconnected sequel to the first film in which - once again - an attractive young woman is subjected to a horrific ordeal of rape and humiliation at the hands of a gang of thugs, before eventually enacting her revenge.I despise rape sequences in films and am always tempted to fast forward through them. They go on for an age here, with the whole of the first hour taken up with the lead's ordeal. It's just unpleasant, and has zero entertainment factor. The film has a cheaper look to it than the first, with British leads standing in for American characters and filming in Sofia, Bulgaria, which makes it look as depressing as you'd expect.Eventually, there's more extreme nastiness to come, but it feels tiresome and vindictive here. The film as a whole isn't as shocking or as disturbing as the first because you've come to expect it by now and it all feels very familiar and even the plot twists from the first are merely copied. The cast isn't too bad - Jemma Dallender already has form with the low budget British horror COMMUNITY, while Joe Absolom was once a bad guy on EASTENDERS - it's just that the pedestrian nature of the writing makes this a bore to watch.
