Sexylocher Masterful Movie
Peereddi I was totally surprised at how great this film. You could feel your paranoia rise as the film went on and as you gradually learned the details of the real situation.
Matrixiole Simple and well acted, it has tension enough to knot the stomach.
Phillipa Strong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.
dmitriych "If I had known I was a genius"--it would change nothing! Here's why. So, he's very smart. He knows it. Why does he end up working at Walmart? With gifts such as his, becoming a loser is not fate, it's a choice. Why do you need to know your IQ anyway if everyone says you are very smart and you know you finish tests perfect even in a really good school? If you indeed have high IQ you would figure things out, or bypass your mother and ask plenty of other people who know the number. You could do all that if you really were smart. But he chooses to cry about it and blame his mother instead. He gets a TV show career where being test-smart is useless (we all know how "smart" most Hollywood is) He needs to grow a spine, too. His mother tells him he cannot become an architect because "everything's built already". Well, if you can put 2 and 2 together (high IQ) you would say "ridiculous"! But all his life he can never stand up to anyone, make his own choices without listening to all these idiots around him, including his mother. No wonder he ends up such a loser. The whole movie is just like that--a whiny guy who never makes his own career choices. No amount of IQ can compensate for that. You could build those rockets, boy, if you only made a decision to. Then there is the idiot mother. You are comfortable telling your son all his life he's ugly (how inspirational is that!) but the minute he gets 165 IQ you resist like crazy telling him he's a genius. You yell when he wants to become an architect but are OK with a career proposition of a weird drama class teacher? Wait a minute, you said your son was ugly, how can you let him on TV? She would be much more useful as a mother if she died at his birth. I could go on and on about it, but to anyone who, like myself, will sit through the entire film hoping this guy would finally turn around and kick everyone's rear end, forget it. He never will, and I bet, in real life, someone like that would continue working at Walmart.
DBZVegetaIII I just saw this film at a private screening in Century City and thought it was a great film. It introduces a somewhat new approach to the concept of a bibliographical film, but it works out fantastic. The main actor does a great job, as well as the supporting cast. It has the right amount of comedy and drama, perfect combination. It's a must see, very underrated, as I hear no one even knew the main actor before this film, but a great supporting cast will probably help him become more recognizable. I also had a chance to meet the director at this screening and she has a bright future in this business watch for other films from her.
bradpittsbodyguard I actually have to say this film didn't do it for me!!! Hands down Della Reese had to have been the funniest in the movie but she had such a small role. There were a lot of flaws in the continuity....some of the time frames just didn't match up with background. Sharon Stone's character was extremely funny at the beginning but it wore off really fast as it started to get very annoying. There were a couple of parts where they could have cut out and I am thinking WHAT THE HECK IS THIS ANYWAY....they must be related to either the director or the crew somehow to get them a small part but towards the end these two characters kept popping up and its like ENOUGH ALREADY....these characters did not go with this movie whatsoever...they had to be written in at the last minute. But I have to say the concept was very original but needed some extreme help!!!!!! I say go directly to cable.....not wide screen theater material....which is very said because I love Sharon Stone and Whoopi!! Not trying to be cruel but I just don't see this making harding any money financially.
Horror_Fan01 I Saw this at The sundance festival, being a Tara Reid fan, for some reason, i was really not interested in seeing this, but i ended up seeing it, and i loved it, it was very funny and dramatic!!! It is definitely worth a look, it is also very underrated, i hear it supposed to have a theatrical release after it finishes at sundance, so if you didn't catch it at sundance, go see it at theaters, you will love it! I really hope this movie gets a lot of buzz, because it certainly deserves it, a great family film! Whoopi Goldburge is obviously funny and awesome in this movie as well as Tara Reid and Sharon Stone!!! This movie needs to get more popular so more people know about this film, because it deserves a watch from everyone, this is one of those movies, where you need to see it at least once in your life.
