Am I Missing Something?

It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.

Close shines in drama with strong language, adult themes.

There's a more than satisfactory amount of boom-boom in the movie's trim running time.

When this cartoon came out, it was shown along with the wretched movie "Thumbelina". I had one or two friends who went to that movie just to see this cartoon and left soon afterwards. It just shows the drawing power of "Animaniacs". I did not see it in the theater, but when I saw it on TV later, I hoped they would make more "Animaniacs" cartoons for the movies. Sadly, they never did, but they should have. It might have helped boost the numbers for other wretched kiddie flicks.
