Most undeservingly overhyped movie of all time??

The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.

Well you can't really fault Invasion of the Bee Girls for not having a decent premise. In a small town a series of men turn up dead and it soon transpires that they have been killed by a group of women who have killed them while having wild sex. It seems that these ladies are the bee girls, part human, part insect. Wrapped up underneath their feminine charm they have the deadly killer instinct of the insect, and in particular the urge to kill the male after the mating ritual. This one certainly has enough about it to qualify as a cult movie of sorts. It's an amalgamation of sci-fi and horror with a healthy slice of sexploitation added to the mix for good measure. The female killers of the title make for marvellous villains. They slinkily manoeuvre about town wearing enormous sunglasses, looking every inch like dangerous femme fatales. The highlight of the film as a whole is certainly the bee girl transformation sequence where the ladies convert a new recruit into one of their kind by way of a strange and elaborate device that covers the naked woman in honey and then has her covered in a horde of bees. It's a brilliantly daft yet effective bit of sci-fi hokum and one that is worth the price of admission alone. The bee girls themselves go around humping all manner of pretty unsympathetic men and then doing them in, while we sometimes even get to see things from their POV with what can only be described as a bees-eye-view. It's all great stuff basically. So much so that it really is quite difficult getting behind the government agent who is sent in to investigate and put a stop to this great situation. Boo! Hiss! This is definitely one of the unheralded b-movies of the 70's. It remains relatively left-field and gets far less of a mention than similarish bigger budgeted efforts such as The Stepford Wives (1975). But it really has a lot to offer for seasoned horror and sci-fi buffs, particularly of the specific oh-so-entertaining 70's strand. So, let's hear it for the bee girls – they can sting me any day.

Very odd grindhouse 70s film which was written by a guy who went on to pen a couple Star Trek Features and a director who directed Elvis that's the way it was.Its a bit different than other 70s grindhouse films in that the acting isn't half bad and the story is a bit more linear.Men have sex and die from some sort of girls who are queen bees! Weird right? There's not a lot of blond and you'll see some characters who have had long careers. Not a super great film and it gets bogged down in the middle, and some of the girls have the worst bodies you'll ever see, -- especially the GILF at the end, but if it's 2am and you have nothing to do, try it.

Between the demise of the Hayes Code and the rise of the MPAA where directors fooled with nudity and sexuality in otherwise "mainstream" films. They finally got to show breasts, and darn it, we were going to see breasts. The plot is that men are dying of sudden heart attacks immediately after sexual intercourse, usually with women they aren't married to. Meanwhile, the women are being inducted into this creepy bee cult which uses a rather "interesting" way to convert members. The movie is just plain silly and it didn't look like it had much of a budget. It's also in the days before you could digitally put an actresses head on a body double hot, sexy torso. Some of these women had no business doing nude scenes. But it's fun, corny cheese, enjoy it for what it is. Perhaps with a bit of honey.

What can I say? Invasion of the Bee Girls takes the cake when it comes to the best of the bad! Cheezy, silly, ridiculous, and nausiatingly low budget! I watched Invasion of the Bee Girls to see the actress Anna Aries. She's credited in The Omega Man but her scene was cut. Now I see why! She was a TERRIBLE actress! Anna though was SOOO perfect for THIS movie! Invasion of the Bee Girls exploits gratuitous nudity, and contains a lesbian kiss. I wish more movies like this were readily available. Invasion of the Bee Girls is available for streaming on Netflix. Gotta LOVE them for making this masterpiece available! On a cold rainy night Invasion of the Bee Girls ought to afford you unending entertainment! Enjoy.
