Murphy Howard
I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.

Kathy Shower, a former Playboy Playmate of the Month, has been considered to be one of the worst actors in the history of moving pictures. After seeing her in this film, she makes Vera Hruba Ralston, Lauralee Bell, and Maria Pitillo look good.Irresistible Impulse features hunk-of-the-day Doug Jeffrey (from Mischievous) playing Richard Lovejoy, a real estate agent dealing with the high roller set. However, things haven't been good for Lovejoy. His marriage is on the rocks, his wife (Shower) is putting him under the gun for forging her name on a check (apparently he's a master at this art), he's under the gun to pay off huge gambling debts, and everytime he meets with a client, he gets nothing but "philiosphical discussions" (this is adult fare, remember). One day, he gets an appointment to see Carolyn Weatherby (Wendy MacDonald), a rich widow. He is able to get a buy from her and a "philosophical discussion", but when he returns from the washroom afterwards, he finds her dead. He takes the check with him due to his desperate plight. The next day, a woman named Jeaninne (LeeAnn Beaman)claiming to be a retainer to Mrs. Weatherby appears, claiming that she is Mrs. Weatherby and wanting to up the buy. Later, he finds out that the retainer is attempting to get the fortune of Mrs. Weatherby for the estranged stepson she had.Admittedly, this isn't bad. The story has some twists and is a good 90's film noir type. The only weakness comes in the acting department, which is mediocre at best. Kathy Shower has acting ability that would allow her to act as a Star Trek Vulcan, but nothing more. The thugs collecting the gambling debt are cardboard cut-outs. Beaman looks as average as usual, and her acting is weak. And oy vey, the hairstyles on these people; MacDonald and Shower need to realize that big hair was out in 1996, while Jeffrey's locks are cheesy. Also, we get to see the nude bodies of women pushing 40, but that's no problem with me. Overall, not a bad erotic thriller, like Jag's Tropical Heat, it's another clever one.
