Excellent characters with emotional depth. My wife, daughter and granddaughter all enjoyed it...and me, too! Very good movie! You won't be disappointed.

I thought this was a joke of a horror movie, kind of like the Sharknado series, except they aren't serious. Justin Long was a poor choice, his bravado isn't believable, he wants to impress his sister, wtf?? Horror movies don't have to be people making absolutely stupid, unexplainable choices, that's the hallmark of a bad horror movie, just the same as horror films that only rely on loud bangs and flashes of light or 'scary' images. It's funny how many people think this was an good movie, but then again the masses usually like crap!

What could have been a good horror was completely ruined within the first 20 minutes after your suspension of disbelief is utterly shot. The ridiculously contrived and retarded manner in which the monsters lair is discovered, is frankly embarrassing. After that, it goes further down hill, as the monster is only fleetingly involved until the end, where it just goes full on cliché, even stealing from Predator. Utterly appalling film. Shame, the bad guy was a good idea.

The vicious monster debuts in this indie horror classic hunting a brother and sister on a terrifying road trip. Trish (Gina Philips) and Darry (Justin Long) are driving back from college when they are nearly run off the road by a creepy looking truck. The siblings see the strange man later dumping wrapped bodies down a hole near a church. They drive by but the man nearly runs them off the road again. Darry decides that they should go back and find out if anyone needs their help down in the hole despite Trish's misgiving. Darry crawls down thinking he hears voices and sees movement but slips out of Trish's grip when rats come out. Darry finds a house of horror below with dead bodies sewn together in an awful mosaic. The brother and sister speed out of there as fast as they can and make it to a diner where they ask for help. Everyone thinks they're crazy except the payphone suddenly rings. On the other line is Jezelle (Patricia Belcher) who has seen a vision of Darry or Trish suffering under the torture of the Creeper (Jonathan Breck). She warns them that they will hear the 50's song Jeepers Creepers before it attacks. The police show up and they try to explain what they saw to the skeptical officers. The patrons see a strange man sniffing Darry's close in the back of the car but when the cops try to get fingerprints, they only find dead skin. The cops also investigate the strange church near the horror hole but find it on fire.Check out more of this review and others at swilliky.com

A-Z Horror Movie of the Day..."Jeepers Creepers" (R - 2001 - US/Germany)Sub-Genre: Monster/Slasher My Score: 7.5Cast=5 Acting=7 Plot=6 Ending=9 Story=7 Scare=8 Jump=7 F/X=7 Monster=9 Blood=10A brother and sister driving home through isolated countryside for spring break encounter a flesh-eating creature which is on the last day of its ritualistic eating spree. "You know the part in scary movies when somebody does something really stupid, and everybody hates them for it? This is it." I really liked this...I can't say a lot about the plot but I LOVED the kills!! What it lacks in dialogue is more than made up for in brutality...this was a lot of fun to watch. Before you stick this in your player...and you should...ask yourself, "Is that my scarecrow?"
