Cortechba Overrated
Brendon Jones It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.
Roy Hart If you're interested in the topic at hand, you should just watch it and judge yourself because the reviews have gone very biased by people that didn't even watch it and just hate (or love) the creator. I liked it, it was well written, narrated, and directed and it was about a topic that interests me.
Brennan Camacho Mostly, the movie is committed to the value of a good time.
seedharal Firstly, Mr. K.V.Anand should be appreciated for making a brave attempt in his very first film as a Director. The way he handled his characters were of first rate. Still, screen-writers should have concentrated more on dialogues. Every character in the movie talks a lot, apparently makes the audience feel whether they are visually challenged. First half of the film is slackly told. Film gets the vigor only after the introduction of Madan. The 'item number' which was placed for a specific purpose did not gratify the targeted audience needs. Director had the best option of skipping it, which he didn't. Director has to be glorified for selecting such a script in such a period where 'kollywood' is heading towards junk. Shot-divisions, Geogrephy, locations-everything was well conceived, but certain scenes were so disturbing, mainly because of editing. Editor is not the culprit, 'so called' trend is the malefactor. MTV-isation has ruined the industry, like how the Hollywood and Bollywood is affected with this disorder. The work of DOP needs a special mention. But uniqueness was the dripping factor. Overall, going by the looks, a director with such intense thoughts and ideas, one can expect some good, rational, semi-parallel films in the near future. Kanaa Kandein is the stepping stone.
anandasasikala K.V.Anand has proved that he is as good a director as he is a cinematographer, eminently supported by Sounderrajan with his photographic skills.Couple of tunes of Vidyasaagar are hummable. the story by Subha(Suresh and Balakrishnan)is well told.Srikanth has playedhis role exceedingly well. Gopika has taken the glamorous route and well poised. All credit should go to Prithviraj for his unique performance. This film has a judicious mix of form and content.Vivek's comedy is thoroughly enjoyable. Editing by V.T.Vijayan is crisp, to tell the least. The fight sequences by Kanal Kannan are fast and breadth taking. Overall, a good attempt by Anand in his debut venture. This film is water perfect and an eminently watchable thriller. SASI
aryamaps A very nice and bold approach by a debut director. Right thing at the right time for the monotonous Indian movie goers. His previous experiences with leadings directors reflect in his film making. Should definitely take little care in presentation may be budget constraints. The impact of the hero's struggle and his ambition in his young age is not creating a big impact as it should have in the first half off the film,Hope the director maintains the same seriousness and the trend in films he is going to direct in future.Hats off and good luck.maps
Krishna Kanth A well made movie in Tamil: Prithviraj's performance is one of the finest I have seen in Tamil cinema. Whatever be said he has performed better than everyone else in this film (Wish he plays a hero further) Srikanth actually was very good too, though compared to Prithviraj he has lesser screen time (?) and consequently gives lesser impact. Thought prithviraj's acting was going to overshadow everyone else's before seeing the movie, though that is true to an extent now that I have seen the movie, srikanth shines in the last few minutes with same coolness as prithviraj Finally the director: Kudos for a smooth direction that blends so many sub-plots effortlessly without getting lost. Am I watching this in a Tami Movie? Special comments (?): The love scenes were very realistic (not vulgar or erotic).
