Beulah Bram A film of deceptively outspoken contemporary relevance, this is cinema at its most alert, alarming and alive.

Shinedowness Jesse McCartney and Elisabeth Harnois did an acceptable job in this film for me. Not a word or face seemed out of place for them. The storyline was not about Hollywoodized superheroes, love, friends, hate, tragedy, etc. No, it had an independent film method on how life was about. That is the refreshment that attracted me in the first place. For an early 2000's star, Jesse's attitude interested me instead of me being unattracted by superficial stardom behavior. Jesse's character, Keith, is victimized by cancer and tries to live his life the best he can. Elisabeth's character, Natalie, is at first about a character who is not victimized by cancer but lives life more easily than Keith. When these 2, Keith and Natalie, meet, things become "interesting." Keith's life helps Natalie mature and learn that the world does not revolve around her completely. This especially happens when she is betrayed.

v w Take a Walk to Remember, and twist it so that the character with the cancer ruins the life of the other, instead of making them a better person. That's this story in a nutshell.I am not the type of person to write reviews, but this movie was just that bad.Plot: It illustrated what abusive "love" looks like: instant gratification for Keith to be with the person he wanted, regardless of how much opportunity it takes away from her. Keith, lost in his own self-pity about his inevitably short life, drags the protagonist Natalie from a dull but happy life to an interesting but miserable and limited life. The story tries to create a deeper meaning and show that Keith allows Natalie to escape the system (going to college, getting a job, daily grind til death), but the reality is that she goes through a lot of unnecessary emotional turmoil, loses her college scholarship, and Keith dies anyways.Quite frankly, if he really loved her, he would have told her the truth about what was going on with him, not taken her virginity, not broken up her friendships and relationship with someone else, and instead pushed her to go to Duke (or apply for other colleges if she didn't want to play tennis for her scholarship anymore). If by the end, she still wants to be with him until he passes away for mature reasons, then it would've been a sweet story. But it wasn't.Despite the horrific plot, the acting wasn't too bad. It's just unfortunate that the acting built up towards nowhere because the plot was so broken. Jesse McCartney did a great job of playing a psychopath. Woo.

edwardp-burns I am not sure why I started watching this film on Netflix. I am 58 years old and am well past the age where the teen genre is appealing to me but this film kept me guessing. Where is the plot going? The Keith character intrigued me, having him missing at times throughout the film only added to the mystery. Also what is Keith's intent with Natalie? Is he a good guy or sinister? I have been watching a lot of films lately and sometimes even the films I think are worthy telegraph the plot line, the ending. Maybe, I wasn't paying enough attention but I really did not know what was going to happen so there was this mysterious dramatic tension that built throughout this film. I also enjoy films that show character transformation and Natalie changes through her interaction with Keith. She is not the same young woman she was at the beginning of this film.Keith stays with me in a way few films have.

KantLogic I simply don't remember the last time a movie made me laugh, cry, hate, pity and wonder, wonder how life works and how people perceive it.The utmost difference between people's lives cause of unfortunate incidents that can change your life completely in every single aspect. Described in a funny yet still depressing way, from picture, to soundtrack and actors everything is just about perfect. The story builds uniquely and makes your emotions alternate again and again. I would strongly recommend it to people who want to Feel.There are only few movies out there that offer as much as this one.teen actors, mature souls 10/10
