Reviews

Dynamixor The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.
SeeQuant Blending excellent reporting and strong storytelling, this is a disturbing film truly stranger than fiction
Claire Dunne One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.
Cheryl A clunky actioner with a handful of cool moments.
christopherandbarb My cousin, Joni, is the brunette sitting on the next pool table in the biker bar. Her H.O.G. (Harley Owners Group) was hired as extras especially for this scene. I am proud to say, Joni received a few extra seconds as the camera panned over her group! Besides the fact Joni was in it, I really liked the movie. I thought it was hilarious when Sarah first meets Kevin Merrick (hunk, Dorian Harewood), and hands him her coat, thinking he is merely a doorman! This movie is a good example of what a divorced woman in America would do to keep her head above water to provide for her child. It also was an example of how hard it is to deal with parents (her father) who think their child made a big mistake getting pregnant and married as a teenager. The biblical references (Sarah being named after Sarah from the Bible) was endearing. I think her father was a minister, or parishioner in their church. I even learned how to play Nine-Ball after watching this movie. Although it was a low-budget movie, it was a good one!!
trvwatson If you are expecting a really funny comedy, as it says on the cover, and because you see Whoopi Goldbergs name on the credits, think again. Although its a decent enough story, a comedy its not, Whoopis naturally funny face was glummed down, the film did deal with serious affairs about a woman struggling to bring up her daughter, while trying to keep her house, but it still could have been a perfectly amusing and hilarious film. The ending was a joke one minute there arguing, the next scene, there driving of into the sunset, no scenes in between, and then it finishes. Its worth watching if you are a hardened Whoopi Goldberg fan, if not watch her in Ghost.
edgein15 This TV movie was better than I'd expect from its Less Than $10 placement at the video store. Dennis Franz provides some real grit in a flick whose writing ranks a few notches above its formula origin. The ending is a cop-out, though. And can anyone ANYONE please tell me the purpose of those many insect-eye-view camera shots in its relationship to a pool game? Anyone...anyone?
